Crafting Bows

There are two types of bows that can be crafted, a longbow and a shortbow.

The skills needed for crafting most weapons are craftsmanship and the weapon skill. So in this situation it would be craftsmanship and archery.

What You Need

- Fletching knife. This can be purchased from the Grotto in the Eolai district in Llanfair, or in Carver's near Bosque.
- Catgut Bowstring. This can be purchased at the same location.

Steps to Make a Bow

1. Forage for wood. For a longbow you will need a limb. For a shortbow you will need a branch.
2. Trim your wood.
- Longbow: TRIM LIMB TO STAFF
- Shortbow: TRIM BRANCH TO CLUB
3. Carve your bow.
- Longbow: CARVE STAFF TO LONGBOW
- Shortbow: CARVE CLUB TO SHORTBOW
4. Continue to carve by changing your command. Keep carving until you cannot carve anymore.
- Longbow: CARVE LONGBOW
- Shortbow: CARVE SHORTBOW
5. Next comes the flexing and tilling process. This is a step step process that will go back and forth. You will first FLEX your LONGBOW or SHORTBOW. It will tell you it need work on the UPPER or LOWER portion.
6. Once you have flexed your bow you will need to tiller the bow. You will need to TILLER your SHORTBOW or LONGBOW ON LOWER or UPPER depending on what the messaging stated when you flexed it.
7. You will need to go back and forth between flexing and tilling until you receive the messaging stating that you are ready to string your bow. With your bow in one hand and the bowstring in the other you will need to STRING your SHORTBOW or LONGBOW.

Congratulations! You have a bow! You can paint it or you can take it as is out hunting.
