How about the ability to stencil scenes on our projects before firing but after shaping?

For instance:

look clay: It has been pressed. It has been cut. It has been shaped into a bottle.

Then buy a stencil and apply the stencil to the clay, then paint clay with brush after dipping the brush into the paint (not glaze, that comes later).

Then fire in the kiln and it might come out as: a poorly crafted bottle painted with a gamojab design in blue.

Then you paint a clear glaze on it and it looks like this: a poorly crafted bottle painted with a gamojab design in blue beneath a clear glaze.

Well you get the idea.

Regards,

Sorry to do this to you. I have to remove the above items until later tonight, but I'll let you know when they're back.

Sainji -- excellent idea on the stencils. I'll think about that. Smile

Does this mean I can suggest some more items? Wink

How about a beer stein(for those booze drinkers), sugar bowl, creamer (to fill out the tea set), candy dish, jewelry box. That's all I can think of for now.

Regards,

Wouldn't jewelry boxes fall more under woodworking? I'm just a male, so I probably don't know much about the subject, but I've never heard anything about porcelain/ceramic jewelry boxes from those femmes in my family that practically hoarde anything that could possibly make them look pretty (..how mean that sounds).

<shrug>

PS: Faberge eggs wouldn't be too bad an idea, even though we don't have jewelry-making/metal-working yet.

Is there any way you can update the sign to reflect the new items you can craft from clay? Perhaps change it into a book that you can flip though?

For instance: you see a large sculpting instruction book mounted on a stand.

Verbs: open book, read book, flip book to page #.

First page can be the index:

Index:
Page 1 Index
Page 2 Dinner ware
Page 3 Alchemy ware
Page 4 Miscellaneous

Then you can expand it when you get new ideas etc.

Oh did we nix making flasks for use with alchemy?

Regards,

It would be wonderful if we could not only stencil designs but also paint words or engrave our pottery. Just a suggestion.

Anyhow...how about ocarinas? Maybe up the difficulty a bit, but having something like that which can be made for the Performers would be nice for them.

Don't forget piccolos. I learned how to play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on one in fifth grade. It was plastic, but it looked ceramic... <cough>
