I'm currently developing the first large "instanced" area for Haelrahv. For those unfamiliar with what an instanced area is, this is an area where players receive their own personal "copy" of the area. This would be similar to receiving your own copy of the vault room, for instance, except on a much larger scale.

This will be an area nearly 40 rooms in size and will be tied to the current storyline. It will be a permanently accessible area, geared toward high-level characters. It will absolutely require groups of 5+ characters to access. It will also feature some altered engagement system related mechanics.

This is awesome news! Will there be enhanced treasure? Special merchants? What level range are you thinking of? Will it be quest driven?

There will be some unique treasure. No merchants - this is NOT a peaceful area. The level range will be VERY high, but a lower level player could accompany a group of higher level players, of course. There are puzzles to solve, but it's not a "quest", per se.

Release will be soon, but we're tying together other releases and storyline with this release, so it depends on the completion of each part.

Quick questions!

1) What counts as high level?
2) Is it on a monthly timer like Radan/Ruga
3) Does it flex like the Couri/Asai mini instance or the way Trooper raids work (general average of overall group plus a few levels).

1. Close to level 200. See my next post on a little more detail, however.

2. Nope.

3. Considering making it flex with a certain minimum.

Damn. I think the hardest part of the instance may be the lack of characters available to go through it 5 at a time. Razz

(As a side note, is it possible to get one of those level breakdowns showing how many characters are in X profession at Y level again? aka this)

We'll probably tone down the level range initially, probably to something that scales to 100-200, but it will eventually be 200 as the number of players in that range expand.

Sounds good and ultra-thanks for the data. It's good to see what classes have what experience. Very Happy

And not like this is major-uber-important, but did you just grab that data? Two of my characters aren't in their actual level ranges (I only noticed because they were ranges which had 0s instead of at least 1s).

I did. I forgot to mention btw that level 1 characters less than half-way to 2 don't count.

Are your characters higher than effective level 180 for purposes of PVP? That is the number in parenthesis in the EXP command.

Yaru's at 190 and I'll assume he's counting as the Artisan in the 171-180 range. Viyci's at 71 and there's no Agent shown in that range.

I found and corrected a logic error in the survey (btw this is all new code, so the former survey from ages ago didn't have this error.)
