Just got to level 35 a few days ago and got snipe.....tried it out think ohhh cool!
And of course it stank.....tried it in town for kicks and says we can't unless in the wilderness.....if we can only do it out of town...why are agents not limited to using it in town?
I mean if I can shoot from hiding in the wilderness why couldn't I do it in town? Not like it's any different really...judging range windage and all that jazz.
Seems rather unfair to trackers.
Oh and I can kill a molted Gargrok with 6 to 8 unaimed pistol shots but snipe one and take 3 sniped shots before being spotted and still not make a kill....underpowered? _________________ Pity the warrior that has slain all her foes |

snipe's not meant to be as strong as normal attacks, because the bonus is you're never seen by the target.
agents are also specialists in stealth, while trackers are more specialists in being outdoorsmen. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Sorry I have to disagree with that....a sniper takes his time and tries for the one shot kill.....not to shoot someone 5 times or until spotted and then shoot from the open _________________ Pity the warrior that has slain all her foes |

sniping does take time. you need to not only stalk the target but have a full aim.
but also keep in mind that snipe in HR terms is not one-shot-one-kill, just like being able to hit with any gun/bow is generally not one-shot-one-kill. snipe in HR terms is shooting from hiding, and that is all.
also, as you gain more stealth skill/marksmanship/charisma, you will do better at sniping. it's a skill that grows. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Honestly...If you're talking about spotting, and then talking about a sniper taking his time...That's kinda wrong. Snipe is on a cooldown, and if you use it before you feel ready to snipe again, it doubles the cooldown or something as well as making you more likely to be caught. It's also (from what I could tell) pretty stat/skill based. With my 90 perception and 80 coordination, it still takes me Several snipes to kill something, and I hit the body part I'm aiming for maybe 4 out of 10.
And please don't use "This profession has it/can do this, I should be able to as well". Agents are downright the masters of stealth, and let's not even mention the very few "Urban terrain" hunting grounds. If you wanna snipe like an Agent, become an Agent.
*edit* And let's not forget game balance. A one-hit-kill attack for ANYONE would be pretty damn broken...Especially in pvp...But seriously, Yaru was right. The biggest pay off to sniping is being able to hunt in complete safety...Unless you're impatient and sniping til you get pulled out of hiding. _________________ Victim: Well, what is the creed?

Oh wow I didn't know agents could train stealth more then 3 per level same as trackers.
Trackers should be masters at stealth in the wilderness as agents are in urban areas.....and since we can't snipe in cities...agents should not snipe in wilderness......to be fair. How is it agents are treated so special by being allowed to snipe in both areas and Trackers get restricted....not very fair. _________________ Pity the warrior that has slain all her foes |

And I really don't expect snipe to be a one shot kill but dang it should be more powerful the two unaimed pistol shots. _________________ Pity the warrior that has slain all her foes |

agents are indeed masters of stealth attacks, while trackers are masters of doing outdoorsy things (one of those being game hunting a la how they snipe).
you'll also keep in mind that agents have the boon of sniping in cities, while trackers have the boon of being able to snipe with bows. is it amazingly unfair that trackers get to snipe with bows AND rifles but agents only can use rifles? no, because trackers are archery/outdoorsmen specialists while agents are marksmanship/stealth attack specialists. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I'm not gonna go into some song and dance, or have a profession-based pissing contest. But I'm gonna state it clear like this, so you understand.
Trackers - Master hunters, master of the outdoors. You have things like super foraging, nifty transport stones, terrain affinity, two-weapon sniping, decent hiding in the wilderness. BUT, and this is a really big but (like a ghetto booty but here), your entire profession isn't veiled in secrecy and cored in stealth.
Agents - Masters of stealth. Every Agent super power is geared towards stealth, sans one. Everything else we do is executed from hiding, sans being masters of lockpicking. As Yaru stated to me privately, Stealth is one of Agent's CORE skills. The same cannot be said for trackers. Agents are flat out THEE stealthiest class in Haelrahv.
Maybe instead of dwelling on what other professions can and can't do...You should be appreciative of what your profession can do. _________________ Victim: Well, what is the creed?
