In regards to the manuals (i.e. reflector, glass, etc.), how long does it take to study them to know them? Just to give you an idea of how much she's been studying them, my tech has gained nearly 7 ranks of research just studying each manual. Waiting for the sink in period, and reading again. I'm about ready to say they're broken or bugged.
The communicator Schematic I think took about 8 - 10 study sessions. _________________ ~* TruSt iN YouRseLf *~ |

I'm not sure about them manuals, Thorne would study them like crazy and it still doesnt seem to be enuff. I know that the schematics are like the spell pages where you have to restudy them cause you will forget em, but for manuals, there just doesnt seem to be a limit to studying them. Then again, it could be just me and the way I trained Thorne's stats. _________________ Lick or Be Licked |

I've forwarded this thread to Drake, because frankly, I'm not sure. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

You didn't mention how long it took you to gain those 7 ranks. A day? A week? A month? Did you start from rank 0? I need more than just "I gained 7 ranks"
edit: I think I see what you're saying, every 24-ish hours everyone loses a small bit of their knowledge, which forces them to keep studying the manuals if they want to continue to repair those parts.. the way I'd set it up though is the more you know, the less you'd learn in your next study sessions (basically, the more you've read in a book, the less new stuff you'd learn if you kept reading it). However, near the end, when you've learned aaaalmost everything, you'd start losing more than you'd gain, and you'd be perpetually stuck at, like, 93%. oops
Should be fine now.. I also changed the amount of research skill given each study time, since it could have been exploited in a certain way that I won't mention. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

Heh. Okay. And to answer your question 7 ranks in under two days (20 or so hours is my guess) _________________ ~* TruSt iN YouRseLf *~ |

Is there any way to get the time switched around on them? I would think it would take more time to start learning a new subject, insted of the 10 second study time.. and less to keep the knoladge in your head, insted of the over 60 seconds for each manual and schematic.
I want to be rewarded for putting time into something, not make me hate it each day that I haveta give 20 mins to keep my knoladge up. |
