1) damn you, trevor, for having stealing out. now i don't have enough points to everything i want to with my agent!
2) how important is streetwise, anyway? is it just for finding people/objects in hiding? i may just let that auto-train til i cap out at 200 in my first set of skills then have that catch up to 200, or whatever, but i don't want to miss out on anything important by ignoring the skill. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Also, on that note, how important is tracking with stealing outside of town? _________________ All explorers are seeking something they have lost. It is seldom they find it, and more seldom still that the attainment brings them greater happiness than the quest. |

Streetwise is really important for CASE.
As for catching thieves, no such mechanics exist and won't exist until people can steal from other players, which won't happen until there's open pvp, justice, etc. At that point streetwise would be used to help catch thieves. Since we're ditching the streetwise/tracking model in Live (new skill: Awareness), the current game aka beta would probably use Tracking instead of Streetwise for catching thieves, if it's higher. Streetwise would still be used for CASE and such. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

So, now that it seems ignoring streetwise fully may be a bad option, i'm wondering the merits of these two skills for an agent. RP-wise, i wanted my character to have them. "well you only get 30 points per level"-wise, i have to be realistic.
i know acrobatics helps prevent knockdowns and athletics helps engagement stuff, so i'd be (sadly) more likely to ditch acrobatics, just since i hardly ever see knockdowns happen. if i ignore athletics, will this hinder my agent from being agently? i'm not asking for dark inner secrets to be revealed or anything, just that if acrobatics really does of import for agents outside of the scope of knockdown/fun verby things.
one of the hardest things with starting a new profession is not fully getting what rarely-used/trained skills do what. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Athletics and acrobatics don't have a big role, for agents or otherwise. I'm sure this will change a lot in future development but we're talking Live development. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

okay. RP be damned in the case of that, then. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Tangent, but somewhat related: even with a single skill, will Trackers still have a bonus in the wild (and Agents in the city) whenever Awareness is calculated? In 90% of the time, I mean, since I'm sure there will be exceptions.

Bonuses to skills based on profession will be less prominent and even non existent in some cases. Professions learn certain skills faster and abilities earned, special items, etc. can boost a certain skill for that profession, too. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
