I concur, and I'm looking forward to facing one.

Code:
[Gluhgok Fen]
A small cloud of tiny flying bugs zooms around the area in random swerving patterns through the air almost as if the shared the same mind. Other bugs hover in clusters above random areas of the swamp, but the reason for their interest in that spot remains unclear. A fallen jalumin tree has been covered in moss which hangs off of the twisted, rotting branches like an odd funeral shroud.

You also see a muddy path, a trail of tracks left in the boggy sludge, a diamond, a muck-smeared silferton crate, some standard AG6 rounds, a borkin warrior, an Aroai stone, a sturdy tovqa crate, a sleek black and silver vibro-sabre, a nicked haeleio caisson, a ruby, a stout haeleio chest, a dilapidated tovqa vessel and Goretusk [EPIC].
You notice exits leading north, northeast, and east.

Code:
>look gore
While not known for their intellect, the borkin are rugged, if primitive, race.  While rather short, they have strong bodies and defining upturned tusks.  This one bears the markings of a great warrior.
This is a powerful encounter that has unusual strength. You might wish to bring allies if you plan to engage Goretusk in combat.

Code:
bash goretusk chest

>Moving deliberately and carefully, you bash a heavy three-headed drachna flail at Goretusk.  You land a fair hit to his chest as Goretusk fails to parry the attack.
Goretusk exhales one last time and falls still.
[You are fairly wel

Skinned an exceptional borkin tusk and got $22 from him.

His entrance:

Code:
Goretusk strolls in.
Goretusk snorts loudly in the air.

This update gets a thumbs up from me.

Trevor totally wins for doing something I've wanted in HR since forever.

Question: do all critters now have epics of all three flavors, or do you wonderful GM folks have to manually make them for each critter set?

Does LUREing a specific critter have a chance of causing one of the epic types to appear as well? Or are they a completely random-on-their-own sort of spawn?

A lured creature has the same chance of being an epic that a standard spawned creature does (simply by the process of being spawned), but there's no "bonus" to it happening. In fact, it was my intent to get with Trevor on making lured mobs not have any chance of being epic, or otherwise apply some throttle to the luring process to curb Performers just sitting around spamming the command until they get what they're looking for.

Not that I was doing that earlier in an attempt to spawn an epic asapi or anything.

I know; but you weren't the first, either. It's been a day of redundant screamers for yours truly.

No, it's done manually and most creatures don't have epic forms, but I'm adding more over time. They won't all have epic forms though, that's not the goal, but many will. They typically have only one epic form, i.e. one epic version of a borkin warrior (Goretusk in this case), not three. Also, the epic level is actually more variable than three different levels. Right now it's epic level 2 to 10 where 2 is a little harder than usual and 10 counts as fighting 10 things for purposes of engagement and has way higher stats, etc. I personally design these epic versions to match whatever scheme my evil mind comes up with. Wink

Could you tell us how many critters currently have Epics among their ranks?
