So. For a while(a number of months) I've had this..problem...with Glim.
First, I'll show you a scene with a character that's not Glim:
Code: |
Glim Faethyn seems less alluring.
>
A crimson banner sways in a gust of air that arrives from some unknown source.
>

>
-+ Shadow Master Anya Lantriklir has entered the world of Haelrahv. [8:57 a.m.]
>

>
An elite royal guard strolls in.
An elite royal guard scans the area guardedly.
>
An elite royal guard nods politely to a passerby.
>
-+ Broker Nalia Enada has entered the world of Haelrahv. [8:59 a.m.]
>

>
An elite royal guard says, "Fine day today."
>

>
An elite royal guard strolls east. |
As you can see, everything's nicely spaced out with the >'s.
Now...here's the exact same thing, but from Glim's point of view:
Code: |
Your alluring aura fades.
Your vision clouds as your attuned eyesight leaves you.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
>A crimson banner sways in a gust of air that arrives from some unknown source.

-+ Broker Nalia Enada has entered the world of Haelrahv. [8:59 a.m.]

Everything's squashed, which can make things a pain to read. Also, some default highlights don't seem to work.(Whisper one, in particular, sucks to lose)
I'm thinking this might be due to the game, though. Their Wizard options are the same....and their SET stuff is pretty darned close, too.
Glim:

Tried deleting Glim's various files in the Wizard/GS folder(.squ, .nam, etc.) and let the Wizard remake them...but nada.(I'm back to the old files, now)
Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Is it my end or the game?

I've had this problem, too, for a few months. I just figured something got changed on the server side. I suppose I was wrong.

Trevor fixed it for me.
He'll be making a change that'll fix this problem when the character logs off. _________________ "Drama is like a varm sveater that hugs you on a cold vinter's day." - Nevrek |

There's a listing used by the mechanics that prints the statusprompt, and it is possible for specific characters to get stuck in this list, especially in the event of a game crash.
I cleared the list (which fixed Glim) and modified the game mechanics so that any player logging off will be removed from that list if they're in it. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I also modified the mechanics themselves so that hopefully this won't occur again, and the logoff thing won't even be necessary, but worst case scenario, re-log and you should be fine. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
