wow fishing exp is next to none.

can this be boosted a bit? right now when i have yisi fish she stays at "
You have not experienced anything useful recently. Perhaps you should do something to further your knowledge." most of the time until something bites. and once something does bite it tends to go right back to empty on the first pulse.

actually in all things, i get MORE experience quicker when i fish than anything. Not sure why your not, but to me fishing is a great way to get exp (as long as you have enough skill to fish... if your low on the skill it might not be the best thing to do to gain exp)

i'm noticing it's hard to fill the mindpool as a newbie nomatter what (save combat), but with fishing it doesn't even go up.

The last three days I've -stayed- locked with fishing. Maybe it's like mining as a newb. When Dzynna was little, the only way I could learn mining was to go fill my mind first (usually hunting) and then I'd learn just enough to maintain it.

Her lack of Intellect might be messing with things. You waste experience when you drain, afterall, unless that stat is >= 75 (if I recall correctly).

As long as her actual experience is moving, you probably don't have much to worry about. Though, like Josie said, she has no skill in the area and experience is probably based on success rather than attempts.

Reyn has been using fishing to fill his mind pool sense I think my third day in this game. until your about level 10 you won't be able to keep your mind anywhere near full(actually cleaning the fish you catch helps alot) but after that, you'll do fine.

the issue isn't that it isn't anywhere near full.

it's that it normally stays at 0% full.

When foraging stopped giving good xp, I turned to fishing for my medic. With a good script that watches for the messaging, you can fill your mind up pretty well...this was after level 5 though. My little psionic just turned level 3...and I still have to keep her punching out eosheai. The thing with psionics and crats though is that they don't usually train the perception and coordination that trackers and techs do...which I believe is what's used in fishing.

Uhh. Foraging gives pretty decent experience.

I'd still be spamming those forage scripts if I hadn't discovered music notation.

It does when you're older....but even then, the experience one kill can get you, done in under 2 minutes, takes perhaps an hour or more of foraging to accomplish. It can take several full bundles -- and foraging with 6 in ecology just sucks -- to move up my psionic's mind a single level...and I can fill her mind with killing two asapi. I rarely use foraging to get experience for that reason. Even if foraging is still some good cash.

Fishing still gets you some good experience, but it's based on how often you actually catch fish. Two or three fish in a short period of time, though, works wonders on one's mind. You just need some skill under your belt first.

Notation experience gains aren't any different than gains from scribing.

But I know spellsongs, not alchemical formulas. Ergo, notating = win.

At the expense of going off-topic within the thread here, notated spellsong prices are going to go down significantly on the higher end songs in the very near future. Rift tomes and Empowering Sonata songs sell for about the same amount, yet Performers are able to do so in less than half the level Mages are able to scribe Rift tomes; not exactly fair.
