This thread is for suggestions on equipment for Troopers. Weapons, armor, shields, equipment. Troopers are only as good as they equipment they are given by the government since we will have little innate skills to rely on. So let's see some colorful suggestions here. I understand since some of this stuff relates to justice, mercs could get it too. But I think that those kinds of items should be usable only by the two professions dealing with law.

- a portable pulse turret - A portable pulse cannon that won't be able to be fired unless it's been set up in a room, perfect for invasions or swarmable hunting areas. it will fire rapid powerful shots hitting all monsters in the room

- shoulder mounted weapons - a shoulder mounted pulse gun or missile launcher or something heh (think Predator)

- unique cyber installation options uncluding unique chips, trooper only - extra arms would be the best option I'm sure, who wouldn't want a third or fourth arm heh? enhanced targetting chips giving a larger bonus to pulse and marks, thermal imaging chips, the ability to see invisible people

- I'd consider the shoulder weapon to be a installation as well.

- small jet packs on cyber feet to significanly reduce engagement time and/or cause the trooper to move 2 rooms at a time when moving normally when they are activated heh.

- tazers or something akin to it, weapons specifically designed to stun and not do damage. For subduement purposes.

- grenades - flash grenades that create a blinding light in an area, thus dispelling all hiders from the area, concussion grenades that create a loud booming noise that stuns everyone in a room

- thermal goggles - grants the ability to see invisible people

- some kind of electro suit(heh couldn't think of a better name) - a suit that goes on over armor that has a certain number of charges on it before it needs to be recharged. The Trooper would be able to press a button or something and have the suit emit some kinda electrical shock that would hit anything at melee with them with a great chance of stunning. The suit would also have a recharge period before it could be used again. Like 5 minutes or something?



Hmm that's all I can think of right now, perhaps more later.

Maybe we could get tactical manuals.....I can't seem to learn tactics while hunting.

Heh these ideas are a bit radical, but hey, they are still ideas.

The ability to call for certain kinds of 'help'. Help available depends on rank(level).

tactical strike - the trooper orders HQ to have some type of vehicle launch some kind of long range raid against whatever room the trooper is in

reinforcements - the trooper orders HQ to send in some backup, maybe have like 4 elite NPC troopers drop in to help the troopers

emergency evac - the trooper orders an emergency evacuation for themselves and their group, ordering HQ to send in a chopper or the HR equivalent to get them the hell outta there and either back to HQ or the entrance of whatever area they are in


Those are all I can think of at the moment.

land mines - you set them and anything that advances on you has a chance of tripping one, doing damage to their legs or feet or even hurtling them some distance depending on mass and weight

pulse weapons with multiple fire settings - pulse guns with different settings like. . burst shots, rapid fire and charge shots. . charge shots would be concentrated shots more powerful than normal shots but would take a second or two to 'charge' before discharging. burst would be normal fire and rapid fire would of course be multiple shots at once but much weaker than normal shots.
