I just found out today, but Tues. August 31st, Marie, the person
behind Miryam, passed away. She was 46. I had been in constant contact
with her up until a few weeks ago and got an email today from one of
her coworkers with the sad news. I spoke with her family today as soon
as I found out, as they had no way to get into contact with all of her
friends online. She had been diagnosed with a brain tumor a couple
years ago, had it removed with radiation therapy as well as many drug
cocktails. She suffered painful headaches and loss of vision which
really hindered reading text. I'm sure she would have loved to have
spent even more time with all of her DR friends if she could have. She
always tried to stay upbeat, and never really let on as to what she
was going through. All of the treatments left her immune system very
weak, and she caught an acute case of pneumonia. Despite being ill for
a number of years, it was all very sudden for the family. Marie was a
sweet caring woman who had many friends from online games, especially
here in DR, and will be missed terribly. I am thankful I got to know
her as well as I did while she was on this Earth, but I am crushed. My
prayers go out to her and her family.
The memorial service is tomorrow in Portland OR and I will be sending
flowers and a card from all of us here at DR. If anyone wishes to
contribute, email me at Dritzdr@yahoo.com. Since this is late notice,
if you wish to personally send flowers/best wishes directly to her
family, you can email me for their address. I'm sure any respects
would be appreciated.

I met her several years ago in DR and she was truly one of the sweetest people I've ever met online.
I didn't know how many people knew her in DR but don't keep track of the news there. She tried this game a few times (at my prodding), but for obvious reasons she really never got into it.
Tiena and she were friends but I haven't seen her around in a while, so if anyone knows how to contact her and could pass this along it would be appreciated.

I didn't know her, but I know how it feels to lose a much loved member of any of these game communities. So, I'm sorry for your loss and I hope the best for her family.
