Valid point. So maybe someone can give something for them to do? Other than wait for people to die or nearly be dead? Maybe grant them more medical toys or something? I dunno. But eh. I can't help but like the dermagel idea . Doesn't have to be implemented, jsut glad someone liked it other than me. (and I knew tech's take focus/mana, cause meds do too, but again off subject) |
As far as I know, medics are still waiting on NPC healing. Apparently that's run into a snag somewhere, if I remember right it's waiting on the Nskills to be finished or the exp system change. When that's released Medics will get all the healing their little hearts desire.
I'm not opposed to the idea of the dermagel suggestion, my point is simply that without things like the NPC healing in place it appears to just deem Medics even more unneccessary even taking into account that a Medic would have to do the extraction. What I mean by that are the Medics that aren't someone's secondary character, mind you. _________________ Stay true to yourself no matter the cost and you'll always know who you are. |

Last time I checked, Faith was working on loads of cool medic stuff for the profession. Like making other medications -- sober pills and such -- and doing surgery...and she's also going to make the ER just for emergencies.
But, people do have lives outside the game, and I'm sure she's busy doing all that. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I kind of scanned the three pages of posts in this, so if I don't answer your question, please repost it.
1. Medicines will be Medic Only. This has been planned for some time.
2. All other professions (depending on skill) will have the ability to make Remedies (of course, Trackers will get bonuses to this because it will, in part, be based on First Aid abilities).
What are the differences between Remedies and Medicines?
A remedy is the home-brewed, untested in a laboratory and usually less capable method of healing. It might even have bad side effects, depending on the item, who made it, how skilled they were and what it is being used for.
I don't see Trackers making dermagel specifically, but who knows what they may be able to make. I haven't laid out all the ingredients and how to obtain them for every possible medical unguent, lotion, pill, liquid, shot and any other possible form for both Medicines and Remedies yet. Right now there are only a few that have the entire creation process laid out on paper, and only one of those that is in the coding stages.
Regarding NPC healing, etc..
NPC healing (and everything else) has been on hold for a short period. I'm trying to wrap up a lot of unfinished Medic projects right now. I apologize about any delays that have or may happen in the future, but unforeseen things which take precedence can, have and may continue to happen. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they don't until I'm caught up. _________________ Counselor Faith Tempest
