What do you think about PvP |
I love PvP. I play these sorts of games because of PvP. |

I like PvP in a controlled setting. I like to spar sometimes, but I don't like the idea of people being able to kill me outside of certain areas. |

I'm indifferent. I neither like nor dislike PvP or I don't have an opinion. |

I don't like PvP. I don't like the idea of my character being ruled by anyone but myself (ex: taking the risk of dying from hunting vs. taking the risk of annoying someone and having them come after me for no real reason). |

Although it's been said before, the greater percentage of PKills don't originate from the upper echelon; they come from lower levels and, more often, the low-to-mids. |
that's just because the uppers are too busy sobbing at a 1 point exp rate.

Probably, or maybe they are just too busy trying out all the new (lately) kickass releases. Whatever the reason it is (and has been since I've been watching = 2 years) lower level or mid level players that either spark or participate in the PvP situations that become problems.
True, when a high level player gets involved its more noteworthy. If someone comes and cuts your head off in one swing it tends to make an impression. However, what Mickey said tends to be the general rule in Hael and thats how its always been. Don't blame the high level players. It is after all up to the individual player regardless of level how they act. And I can tell you from experience having seen NUMEROUS players come in fresh from the CM intent on causing nothing but trouble that usually its the lower-mid levels. _________________ You turn to Trevor Rage and ask, "What the fuck were you thinking?" |

I think I'll just keep on being nervous. I wish we had a thump sorta verb...just because that's much less possible death. Maybe. Hopefully? I think I'm just paranoid about leaving the game running, going on, and coming back dead. That would suck. I agree with you here Kit, I would love an action like thump that could be used to warn somone. But we all know that it was grossly abused in DR.
I wouldnt mind seeing a limit put in on how many times you can kill the same person in a set amount of time... like a day or two days or week.
Might keep people from staking out grave sites or hiding during a rez. so that they can kill again. _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."

Well, I would hope there would be some kind of PvP safe-zone area(s) where people can dump their characters for extended times. Those, when coupled with our current AVOIDs, should keep you perfectly safe and sound.

We also have the entire OOC area. _________________ If there is one thing in the world that I know, love conquers all, it trancends time and space, defies all odds, and can bring you back from the darkness, it is the guiding light that helps bring you in from the rough stormy seas of life, and it remains even after you have gone.

The OOC area - while not totally pvp safe - does make it kinda hard for anyone to fight/search/etc.

But the OOC area is out-of-character. I meant an in-character area.
Essentially rooms that are non-PvP because it makes sense for them to not be open to PvP. Anywhere highly patrolled by city guards, main gathering areas (CC), etc.

By that token, experience draining shouldn't be allowed in OOC rooms, either; a character is either a character full-tilt or not at all. _________________ Mickey Brunner

A bit too long, for my tastes.
But yes, 'grave camping' can be ugly.(Particularly due to the RT involved in digging it out and wearing armor)

Draining with 0 Int? I think death would be preferable.
I look forward to PvP returning...but at the same time, I'm not.

Beau's the one that suggested that people go to the OOC area to drain and chat at the last forum. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage
