Presently we can do the following items with whittling according to certain people I've talked to in game: vial, bowl, pipe, ring, pendant, figurine, amulet, statuette, plaque, hairbeads, mortar, pestle.

I would like to suggest more items for whittling such as: goblet, hairsticks, barrettes, pins (various animal shapes), headband, kazoo, reeds for wind instruments, recorders, ocarinas, and other wood instruments. I'll have more later after a bit of research.

Please feel free to add to the list.

Also if we are going to keep whittling, can we have a whittle list? Thanks.

Regards,

thanks for the update to whittling, btw.

small issues:

1) whittling still isn't teaching nskills for woodcrafting.
2) i'm not sure about the all other things, but the barette isn't sellable at the tower or anywhere else for a premium. the goblet (the other thing i tested) sold at the tower fine, so i might have just picked the one bad item. Wink

It does, but the item has to be some kind of challenge to you. If it's not, no nskills. So harder items, more difficult woods.

The barrette should sell anywhere that buys jewelry type items. This applies to rings, pendants, amulets, hairbeads, hairsticks, and bracelets also.

what teaches 200 (255) craftsmanship? :/

i figured k-whatever blocks were the hardest, because they cost the most. but then again i was rushing out the door today so i didn't do any extensive testing. i'll do more tonight. Smile

thanks for the woodcrafting update, by the way. it was desperately needed.

Thank you so much for all the updates.

Some more project suggestions:

bucklers, sheathes, spoons, cups, picture frames, badges, hiwah blocks, quarterstaves, staves, spears, boomerangs, clubs, stools, gunstocks, jewelry boxes

No, hiwah is the game you play with the block. And they're quite hard, but not as hard as idols.

I just upped the difficulty of the idols, so you should be able to learn from kailet ones now.

Code:
Eolai named. This tree grows to 50 feet tall, and tends to have a large canopy of branches with amber heart shaped leaves that turn to blood red in the winter. It bears clusters of tiny white flowers with pink centers (in the seasons of Ebaca, Icorae, Haju), which produce an ice blue skinned juicy fruit, that’s about 3 inches wide and 2 high approx. the fruit has a pure white flesh under the ice blue skin, with tiny black seeds in a husk that runs through the center (fruit forms around mid summer). The tree's bark is fibrous and can be peeled away without hurting the tree, to reveal a dark grey under wood, the wood inside is rose pink hardwood.
Usage: Fibers are used to make a material called Iwai, which is a thick tough fabric, used to make hardwearing clothing, containers and tents. Hardwood can be used to make furniture, roof tiles, buildings etc. Fruit is edible and is just called ilorai (bit like apples).

Some more suggestions for whittling: Canes (non-weapons), boxes (small, medium, and large), plates, forks, platters, splints (medical purposes possibly?), stilts, clogs, crowns, armbands, skiis (down hill, cross country anyone!). That's all I can think of for now.

Regards,
