With finding good quality parts harder then junk...and with just finding parts PERIOD hard...well...I can't even make gadgets at the moment because I don't have enough parts.
I'm even offering 500-1500 for them, but they're just too hard to find now. Drake, can you turn the frequency up a little? Artisans can buy their supplies or have a tracker skin them. But parts are just...chance. Perhaps having more parts sold in shops would be nice. It's almost imposible to find plastic chips for me of any usable quality. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Maybe you should ask for robotic death droids instead and a SALVAGE command. _________________ If there is one thing in the world that I know, love conquers all, it trancends time and space, defies all odds, and can bring you back from the darkness, it is the guiding light that helps bring you in from the rough stormy seas of life, and it remains even after you have gone.

Try hunting more or talking to the right people. I tend to find a decent amount of gadget parts when going through boxes. Usually let the janitor get them, though. _________________

Kit hunts roughly 5 hours a day. With a luck cord. And 65 in perception...which is probably the problem. He doesn't find much junk.
Today, after three hours of hunting (a little more, but 3 is round) I've found 10 pounds of parts. Only 2 of those parts were useable.
Not having access to parts limits gadget making. Which is much more fun then hunting anyway and profitable just to sell them to shops. I just would like a bit easier time collecting parts. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Could try a schedule or something. Hunt one day, play with gadgets the next. _________________

neither of those things determine how likely you are to find junk. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I don't know. If gadget parts increase in frequency, I want slices of bread to do the same as well. I do enjoy my grain-y carbs.

So what if all the gadgets you make aren't high quality? Just go with what you get. _________________ Why use logic when you can just...make stuff up? |

Now I know who to mail all the bread slices I find. _________________

Wow. Even the techs are fighting get parts to drop more frequently.
If they don't drop more frequently, they should be available to buy somewhere like artisan tailoring stuff is. It takes 8 or so parts to build anything. I have tons of circuitboards...no more switches or glass or chips.
Having only one way to get parts, and having it be a luck issue (on the player's part, not the game's) makes the building of gadgets just that much more difficult. No other creation system relies on the junk hopper.
Also, taking off of what Beau said....having a junk yard would be awesome. It could be the place where everything that ever gets thrown out goes...and we could forage for specific parts. Maybe Llanfair sends all their junk to Echak... So that makes it a little more fair. Artisans and Trackers have to go up there for their stuff too. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

But I want robotic death droids. That are unaffected by psionic stunning and blindness. That may or may not be the robots you are looking for. _________________ If there is one thing in the world that I know, love conquers all, it trancends time and space, defies all odds, and can bring you back from the darkness, it is the guiding light that helps bring you in from the rough stormy seas of life, and it remains even after you have gone.

No, I was ignoring the unhelpful part of your post. XD The salvage part gave me the idea. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage
