$27 -$90. It is a big jump...but still on the lines of 'not worth it.'

keep trying to justify system abuse. you're too smart to come off as not realizing what you're doing is system abuse, and i hope you realize we're not dumb, too.

i think you also forgot the part where some gadget parts are going to be sold in stores.

mailing all the junk to other characters on your accounts and having them just walk around holding mail bins because the space is theoretically infinite is taking advantage of a system limitation that the mail system has.

In case you didn't listen -- and I know you didn't because you posted -- I made an army of techy apprentices to hold my stuff. Whoo! You lose.

And way to go with trying to get people in trouble. I immediately shoved everything in lockers and beefed up account 2 with a horde of cute tech boys to be Kit's slaves. Every buisness needs a few monkeys to take care of the minial stuff. It's way more OOC then what I was doing, but there's not much choice, now is there? I didn't even wait for Trevor or Drake to say: "Yo, don't do that!" I think you're just being a board nazi. ::cheer::

Oh god, someone kick her in the head. Please.

I think that post changed from the original, but there is lots you could do. One being not collecting so many fucking parts. You probably just sit in a workshop all day, script repairing currently useless parts just to toss them into your mule's lockers defeating the whole purpose of finding them later on.

You know, I'm curious what the word roleplay means to you, Kit.

I haven't been in a workshop in two days. I ran outta parts. And I only keep the ones that are good and up to start off with...which means not very many parts anymore. Most of the parts I had Yaru actually bulk mailed me and I finally got around to checking them. Finding parts in boxes for Kit is almost nill...however, finding poisons rings and vitality amulets are on an all time high.

You guys can continue to question me if you'd like. ^.^ Or desire violence as a good American should.

With the lack of being able to find parts now that enough people -- including me -- complained that they were coming up too much, stocking up is the best way I can think of to be prepared for when gadgets do actually come out. And I think I roleplay fine. It's better the the 'gotta kill people' or relationship drama that permiates the air.

Anyhow, this topic was about getting a tech office in which to build and sell gadgets from in accordance to ElectriCat Inc, Kit's buisness. If you want to continue to debate my roleplay skills, please start another topic. ^.^ Thanks.

The point is that you did it to begin with. Not that you covered your tracks after someone pointed out the abuse. And after you've set yourself up as an authority on roleplay (not officially, mind you, but your tone in other posts in other threads regarding roleplay).

But, anyway, you want this to be about you getting an office. And I would assume that would include options for you (and other Techs) to deal with their abundance of repaired parts.

Well, the best option I've read so far is to just not hoarde so many. Seriously, I doubt you're going to need fifty on/off switches. Or fifty tubes. Or fifty whatevers. Ten of everything would probably be sufficient, especially since you can always dissessemble gadgets (as per one of the main premises of the system already laid out for everyone) after you construct it. If you find nobody wants a flashlight, you can both a: not make anymore, and b: dissessemble all the ones you've already made, salvaging any and all pieces that went into making it.

Seriously, there's no real reason why you should have an ungodly amount of parts. You're just imposing that pain on yourself, and then wanting some fancy new workshop/locker/whatever made because of it.

Hey, if we don't say what we want, there's no chance at all in getting it. And yes, I play a tech primary, I will always be tech sympathetic and I want us to be more awesome then yous guys.

I wish I had 10 of every part. Hell, I wish I have 5 of every part. But I don't. Not by a long run. There's like 10 different types of every part out there!

Edit: There doesn't have to be an option for parts storage. Obviously, with the complaint, Drake won't be installing parts lockers. The idea of an office/private workshop is just that. A customizable space for a tech to rent out without having to worry about keys or renting labs. If you refer to the original post, this was NOT ABOUT GETTING EXTRA SPACE. You guys made this post about that, not I.

Expasions: All professions that have labs for their creations could have the same thing. Mages/Mages for personal month-long rented alchemy labs. Trackers for the tanning labs.

Before you all get outraged and wind out tearing apart a suggestion, you should see the possitive side in things. Namely, higher up people in their professions that rent labs build bonds with the owners and therefore might persuade them to rent them a private lab for longer periods of time.

Then again, I'm possitive a lot of you people just like to argue things into nothing unless it benefits you.

Or maybe some of us like to think of game-wide balance instead of the beneficial aspects of something toward a select few in the game's society. Just because only two or three people agree with you on a consistant basis doesn't mean the rest of us hate you or your ideas. Hell, I even said it would be cool if every creation system got the possibility of an extended rent deal, but it's just not worth upsetting the game's overall balance (as per Trevor, sort of).

[Edit:] By the way, please stop trying to play the innocent victim card. It's getting old.

I'm going to try to add my opinion without igniting another 3 pages of back and forth stuff.

Reading over old posts by staff, I've found a few things.

At some point in the past Trevor went through and wiped older characters. His main reason was disk space.

That was one of the reasons for some other things as well. Changing how vaults work because how they we're being zipped was slow.

A few other changes which you can rummage up if you look. All in all, Making mules to hold mltitudes of gadgets isnt good for the game itself, even if there not a big red warnign sign on it.

Lastly, It doesnt matter if you RP it, or how you RP it. Circumventing a game system thats in place to regulate some aspect of the game, such as vault space, is game abuse. Doesnt matter what color you spray paint it. Dog crap is still dog crap.

I leave your opinions alone, it isnt my place to comment, but this is a fact. It's game abuse no matter how you word it.

Sean

1. I'm not the only one that has other characters holding things.
2. If it was that much of an issue, we wouldn't be given 7 characters (or is it 8?) per account.

3. If you have a beef with something, start a new topic. This is the reason some people refuse the read the boards. Two or three people hijack a thread and decide to to make the topic something they please. If my second account is causing damage and Trevor tells me to get rid of some stuff, I'll do that. I can tell you for a fact that ALL of my characters put together don't have as mch stuff as what was in Tyger's bag.

kit, as the player of an artisan who would LOVE to have tons and tons of exceptional skins lying around to make massive backpacks with, yet instead limiting the amount around because my vault can only hold 260 items, as per trevor's own limitations, please don't say that i'm not aware of a situation where it would be good to have an 'apprentice' around to carry stuff for me.

that, and it's not like i wouldn't love an 'apprentice' around to carry skeins/patterns/threads/etc for me these days.

but, instead of running around the system limitations trevor personally set up, i play by the rules.

If you choose to use a ton of mules to keep thousands of items you are doing the game a disservice by chewing up resources. That's all I'm going to say about it.
