I figured this was the best place to ask rather than make another thread.

Does nerve damage heal on its own like other wounds?

i'm pretty sure nerve damage degrades over time.

If the damage is severe it will worsen over time, but if not, then yes it will heal over time like other wounds.

What Trevor said. Here is from the actual Medic News thread:

Quote:
[02.07.05] If you receive nerve damage beyond a certain amount and do not seek medical assistance, your nerves will continue to degrade and you will die.

Edited with notes (this is not in the news): The different health levels (what you will see when you type HEALTH) are:

a slight headache (there are a couple of levels below this, but they are only visible via a Medic's bioscanner)
a migraine headache
a few nervous tics
slight twitching
severe twitching
constant tremors
uncontrollable tremors
complete loss of muscle control

If you reach the severe twitching (or worse) phase, I suggest you seek medical attention immediately, as things will get really ugly pretty quickly.

[09.17.2004] Healing people with emitters and regenerators now affects alignment of both the Medic and the patient. More to come.

[09.17.2004] Reviving people with cardiostimulators now affects alignment of both the Medic and the patient. This affects more than healing. It is advisable to patients to seek out medical help from Medics with like alignment. More to come.

[09.19.2004] Medics of at least 7th level now have a device to heal nervous system damage. As with all devices, this one works better and lasts longer the more skilled you are. Supplies can be found at your local medical supply store. As with all prior healing changes, use of this device can have an impact on the alignment of both the Medic and the patient.

[01.11.05] (6)Tending wounds now affects alignment.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Can you give me a specific example or two on HOW using this equipment or treating people's wounds effects alignment of the medic and the patient? The only mention is that a patient "should" seek out healing from a like-aligned medic.

I'm not sure what you mean by an example. Alignment shifts work the same way no matter what is done, only reviving does significantly less shift than combat, and healing does far less than reviving.

Yeah, I went and read the alignment threads, and understand more of whats going on. (Medica healing like-aligned people for bonuses and unlike-aligned people for penalties).

I posted a new alignment thread in the suggestion forum.

No more massaging the dead. Well, although it was definitely helpful in getting a dead person alive...it was rather odd, considering that all other temporary boosting things wear off when you die. Shocked

Cryosyringe came in useful now that I can't revive anymore, but it'd be nice if I could see the duration it has left on a body with my bioscanner.

Apparently lounging at the cloud court whenever you're on *doesn't* help towards becoming cardiostimulator certified Sad

It really did have one, even though the look was lying to you (and has been fixed). Wink
