You lie down.
With confidence, an eosheai attempts to bite you.  Returning with equal ferocity, you parry the attack.

I don't think one should be able to stay so incredibly balanced after laying down. Kneeling I could understand but laying down? I think we should take significant balance reductions after kneeling\laying down and they should stay down as well.

I could just imagine seeing someone rolling around on the ground while in combat, dodging and parrying blows. As comic as it sounds, it's a bit too unrealistic I think.

actually, i think it's pretty cool that someone can do all that and still be balanced.

When going across a balance beam, you are much more balanced the more of your surface touches the beam. Laying, technically, gives you the most balance.

Yea but that's not while things are shooting at you, trying to stab\claw\bite\rend and tear you to shreds or chucking fire bombs at you.

You're still balanced...just prone and vulnerable. There's two different things.

How balanced can one be after rolling time and time again in an attempt to evade blows? I would think you might start getting dizzy or something.

That's what acrobatics training is for.

As for the balance thing, I don't think kneeling should automatically reduce your balance. But you'd lose it faster and recover it slower since it would be more difficult to attack and defend.

I didn't mean an automatic reduction, I meant more along the lines of a more gradual loss. I shoulda posted a longer example. But staying at incredibly balanced even through kneeling\laying down, changing position etc. doesn't seem right to me.

Either way, if you are prone, sitting, or kneeling you receive a defense penalty, regardless of balance. I also *think* you're more likely to lose balance after an attack/defense if in these states but there is no auto reduction of balance built into the LIE, SIT or KNEEL commands.
