I once entertained the idea of a sleight-of-hand ability for Performers, and ironically, thought it'd be cool (and appropriate) for Agents too.
Conditionally, I'm personally adverse to enabling someone to directly alter another person's handheld inventory, but anything container/ground-based with skill checks would be cool. _________________ Mickey Brunner

Just a note, and I hate to bring them up, but Simutronics had an extreamly dangerous issue with "slip" in dragonrealms with characters "slipping" 100's of items on another to the point of coruption.
FYI Passed!

As our system is totally different from what Simutronics uses, character with huge inventories don't normally cause problems unless they have literally thousands of objects on them. *clears his throat and looks around* You know who you are. _________________ If there is one thing in the world that I know, love conquers all, it trancends time and space, defies all odds, and can bring you back from the darkness, it is the guiding light that helps bring you in from the rough stormy seas of life, and it remains even after you have gone.

One of the benefits of the lib HR uses is its object handling and saving process; the game can't just corrupt because someone is holding 100 things (server load timeouts, etc. notwithstanding, but they're an inconvenience at worst, and can be easily prevented). Also, assuming the occasion ever did arise that items could be slipped into another person, only minimal code effort is involved checking whether someone has an empty hand. _________________ Mickey Brunner

This is what I figured, but just wanted to make sure it was mentioned. I had no doupt things were different regarding server backups and actually their corruption issue if im not mistaken related to a variable overload and since the character was in a live state when it happened, well things got ugly. Peace of mind is a good thing!

This also means that when we release player housing they won't explode due to having too many items inside. That happened to a friend of mine in Modus...it was not pretty. _________________ If there is one thing in the world that I know, love conquers all, it trancends time and space, defies all odds, and can bring you back from the darkness, it is the guiding light that helps bring you in from the rough stormy seas of life, and it remains even after you have gone.

All of aforementioned caveats being why I prefer object-oriented databases to instance-based ones. _________________ Mickey Brunner

Oh that reminds me of my time in Plat, had a house, that I couldn't enter that had roughly 300 Platinum worth of goods inside. House existed, I could see it, but if it tried to enter it would tell me it didn't exist. Took 3 weeks of feedback, 5 gms, 2 SGMs and one Platinum Guru before I was resolved.....God I'm glad im not there anymore!

Well Beau, be relieved. I have to stop collecting pillows at about 60. I filled every one of my containers, my cache, and my locker, so I have no where else to put any more.
EDIT: I would be able to put more in my cache, but it's still filled with every item from the claw machine on the submarine. _________________ >ask librarian about books
