this is the worst light armor that Second Skin sells:

Code:
Some dark gray hushoguj hide armor is classified as light armor.
You are certain it is of average quality and workmanship.
This armor provides slight protection against blunt damage.
This armor provides slight protection against cold damage.
This armor provides slight protection against electrical damage.
This armor provides slight protection against erosion damage.
This armor provides no protection against heat and fire damage.
This armor provides slight protection against piercing damage.
This armor provides slight protection against slashing damage.
This armor provides no protection against magics.
This armor provides no protection against psionics.
It appears this armor provides protection for the chest, arms, legs, waist, back, and abdomen.
Considering your current armor in addition to some dark gray hushoguj hide armor you would not be hindered by this armor.
If you were using only some dark gray hushoguj hide armor you would not be hindered by this armor.
That item appears to be on sale for $717.

this is what i make:

Code:
Some gragok hide armor is classified as light armor.
You are certain it is of very good quality and workmanship.
This armor provides slight protection against blunt damage.
This armor provides poor protection against cold damage.
This armor provides poor protection against electrical damage.
This armor provides slight protection against erosion damage.
This armor provides slight protection against heat and fire damage.
This armor provides slight protection against piercing damage.
This armor provides poor protection against slashing damage.
This armor provides no protection against magics.
This armor provides no protection against psionics.
It appears this armor provides protection for the chest, arms, legs, waist, back, and abdomen.
Considering your current armor in addition to some gragok hide armor you would not be hindered by this armor.
If you were using only some gragok hide armor you would not be hindered by this armor.
You have no idea what this is worth, but it looks mighty expensive.

i'm not sure what the encouragement would be to make and use this armor. it takes two hours to make, the profit turned as a result isn't that fancy ($3kish), and it's not up to snuff with the cheapest available armor that protects the same parts.

is it possible for the protection of the player made armors to go up?

stats/skills the possibly count in making armor:

Code:
Coordination : 130  (142)
Mentality    : 80 (88)
Perception   : 55 (67)

Craftsmanship            : 144  (197)
Light Armor              : 96
Skinning                 : 96
Tailoring                : 144  (221)

i love the armor crafting system, so i'd like for people to be encouraged to make/buy/use these armors.

can it also be possible to craft full body armor?

Yea I think it would be cool if at higher levels PC's could make really good armor. Also, who will specialize in making heavy armor if it ever becomes possible? Troopers are really the only heavy armor type profession so I would think they would have some skill in heavy armor crafting. Instead of using skins and hides we would use metal ingots and such.

Yeah I didnt make any better when I was making it as far as protection. the only thing that goes up is the quality I believe

I ended up reallocating and dropping all the skills I poured into it because it is very time consuming, and does not sell as well as I would of thought and no one wants it.

Okay, I'm going to repeat this again (and hopefully for the last time). The levels of protection offered by armor, crafted or no, are beyond mine and Valla's control. These rates are predetermined by the type of armor material; we couldn't change them even if we wanted to. In fact, the one factor we CAN change to improve on these levels is quality; which you see in play, not to mention players can improve quality beyond anything they can pay to have done. The same limitation is true for full suits; hard code beyond our control prevents us from allowing it.

Another thing to bear in mind is that you're only working in leather; lots of stuff in shops are light armor of a non-leather variety (and in some cases, there appear to be misnames that refer to armors as hides and leathers that actually aren't; these are the responsibility of the GM that made them).

if it's not a system you or valla have control over (which is understandable), i'd still want whoever can change the things to change them.

i appreciate that, honest!

now that i like hearing, too.

whose control would allow it? i'll gladly annoy the people who i should be annoying, but for now i only know to post dismay about armor crafting in the crafting folder.

yeah, but second skin deals in almost all hide armor. the above appraisal are what those all appraise as. that's why i didn't use poudrach scale or telyron (sp?) appraisals for comparison.

i love the system, and i understand that it would be a lot of recoding for different hides to give different stats, but i would at least like whoever can change the protection levels (and i understand that its something you or valla can't change, you just make the system which i really do appreciate and love) to look them over and try to do something so it makes sense to make player armor.

tell me who to harass and i gladly will. honest! i know its not something you or valla have access to. if it means poking trevor with a stick, i don't mind doing so. really!

this isn't me saying the system is bad or anything. i love the idea of armor crafting. i like investing points in it to better yaru at it. i understand that you or valla can't change the numbers. but i would like whoever can to give it a once over if time/schedule permits.
