I'm still not sure why some things give no exp, why some things give any exp, and why it all moves so 'slow'.
I'm confused why each attack doesn't always grant exp. It seems completely random at times. Along with that, I only get around 0.5% per attack. So it'll take 200 rifle shots that count to gain a level.
I'm also not sure why arackus don't give me exp for evasion (at all). I mean, heck, they're at my level I think. They're level 34 right? I'm a level 40 artisan. Geez, heh. They hit me sometimes, I dodge sometimes. But, I never gain exp for evasion at all.
Then there's light armor. I don't get why it gives exp when I attack, but okay. But I'm still not sure why it just sometimes gives exp for evading and attacking, and not always.
Why is exp only gained at times, and why is it gained at such a slow rate? _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

The gains are actually based on skill and stat comparisons rather than level comparisons. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

the thing that confuses me is that arackus can still kick my butt if i'm not careful, yet i don't learn evasion from them.
evasion: 82
agility: 20 (29)
perception 50 (61)
coordination: 90 (102)
does having high coordination maul my chances to learn evasion, even though i'm not uber-skilled in it? _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Just curious, why not parry since your agility is so abysmal? |

-To Soundless-
Yea man, you're better statistically trained for parry and not evasion. Evasion incorporates Agility and Perception(in that order of importance as well), of which you have very little of. Parry uses Coordination, Agility and Perception, your coordination would help alot with parry. If you were to use parry instead of evasion I bet you would notice a significant improvement in your combat prowess.
I do remember you saying Yaru was all for ranged, that's how Tshar is trained now as well. So when the engagement system comes out, you will be able to retreat and stay out of melee. But for now, parry would really help you in combat. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

there are two reasons why i train evasion
1) i think coordination does fit into the dodging formulas (with the exception of missle weapons).
2) just based on the way yaru's character is, i see him nimbly running around more than trying to fend off a blow. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

oh, and the idea of trying to parry with a tiny rifle is silly to me as well.

It is agil, coord, perc for evading non-projectile attacks..and I'm switching to evasion, so who am I to advocate parry? |

I had assumed, and asked some other people, that if you use missle weapons you wanna train evasion, not parry...parrying with guns really does look funny in my mind. |
