Trevor just made an announcement about some changes...

Pulse weapons aren't concidered ranged like marksmanship and archery? Just curious.

I was told I was wrong here. That guns should always be better than bows. Is that true?

I hope not.

...er....why? That's kinda odd for you to say, esspecially since you don't use them and it doesn't detract at all from what you do use. Besides, it's not as if they cause nearly as much damage as the other two. Guns are usually ranged, aren't they? I was curious.

Besides...take a guy with a bow or a sword and put em up against a guy with some guns. Guns should be advantageous over 'primitive' weapons anyhow. In my opinion at least.

How did we get on this issue of ranged weapons? The news update doesn't even reference the term "ranged".

At any rate, ranged as I personally define it would include guns, bows, pulse, and thrown.

Oooh, I thought that was what you were doing, giving boosts to ranged. And I had forgotten all about thrown weapons -- because they're painful. I don't really understand what the levels are when you appraise them. Practical, advantageous...appraising things and what is better has ALWAYS confused me. It should be a scale of one to ten. Or one to 100.

Because AMBUSH uses a straightforward, non-variable adjustment to damage rates, I don't think it's necessary to change it. On every successful ambush you will get over double normal damage for that weapon.

Yes, replying to myself. Trevor, may I ask why blood siphon is going mage only?

In an effort to make magic more a mage-specific thing and likewise make psi powers more psi-only, the lists were adjusted wherein most of the spells and powers were mage and psi only respectively. Non-mages can still use many spells, but most of them will be mage only. I believe 70 of the spells on the list are mage only and 30 are open to all. Same ratio for psi.

Well first time out in Kuchos and using my rifle, I missed, slight, missed, missed, where I pulled out my blades and got mostly slights and insignifigant hits, not to mention knocked on my ass and a moderate bleeder. Still testing but already worried again.

Second time out went much better, didnt miss at all with the rifle, and got some devastating hits although only a slight when it was stunned.

Just to clarify - is this a change from how hunting has been in the last couple of weeks for you, or is this the norm for that time period?

I kinda like having spellsongs mostly being for performers and spells for their particular groups. The things that make techs special can't be done by everyone. Same with medics and stuff like that. It'd be like...giving everyone the ability to operate a regenerator....just making everyone else worse then a medic handling the gear.

I'm still not sure if you're saying you started missing today or a while back when the major changes took place, or what. Can you clarify?
