Droids, like spirit servants, now have a small chance of... opening?... a box that's in their hands. Be careful if it ever happens though.
I did a manual deactivation/activation of all droids, but ran into a snag or two, so if your droid isn't being responsive or something, just deactivate and reactivate it yourself and it should be fine. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

How likely is it that droids and servants are going to be bored enough to disarm and pick boxes?
Because, you know, that's a great way to get around poison traps. And I want in on it.

Do they have the same skill that we do? Are they better skilled then some of us? Will they disarm boxes? Maybe I should go get one and try it out. I can't stay in town too much. I feel bad for the people that have to put up with it's huge bursts of spam. |

I don't know the command to get them to pick the boxes. Or does it just happen?
Also...can we get a command that lets us tell a droid to pick something up off the ground, or allows another person to give our droid something? |

It's really, really random. My servant has been content to stand around for 20 minutes or more while I kill garbage ghosts and not do anything with the boxes he's holding for me. Othertimes, he'll grab a box I just gave him, fiddle with it, and then grab another one in under a minute. He sometimes fails to open the box too.
But the poison traps aren't the big problem. The crusher traps are the big problem. Poison you can get through with the items intact, crusher traps destroy them all! _________________ Help! Help! I'm being oppressed! |

Droids have a really tiny chance of opening them, actually. An even smaller chance than spirit servants. However, droids won't fail at opening them. And it isn't something you can tell the droid to do, it'll just do it on its own. Spirit servants will grab any box in their inventory, while a droid has to be holding it. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

They shouldn't fail. Are you absolutely, positively, 100% sure that he failed? Not a mixup of boxes, etc? _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I'm pretty certain, unless he just disarmed it and didn't actually open it. I can do another round of box hoarding tomorrow and check again...after I find another light source. _________________ Help! Help! I'm being oppressed! |

How droids do it rocks. Unless you're moving when they finally do it. |

Stilldawn:
Someone could spend a long time waiting to get one box picked. I don't see this reducing the usefulness of agents except for a) boxes no one can seem to get or b) someone who gets few boxes and doesn't mind waiting a while to get each open. They're useful, but I don't think they will be replacing lockpicking and disarming skills. And in fact, if we do determine that is the case, they will be adjusted as need be to remain a nice, cool feature, but not a replacement outright. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I believe the rate for droids is nearly once every 2 hours (it's random, but that's the math). I don't think people want to wait THAT long to get all of their boxes picked. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

And techs have security as triple trained like agents do. I'd rather pick my own boxes then wait for a droid to do it. |
