I'm posting first because...well, it's almost 11 PM here on Halloween night.
My pumpkin carving attempt for the year:
It rained...a lot...but we did manage to get some trick or treating in with the toddler during about 30 minutes of the rain stopping. She went as a ladybug!
Next year should be even better. She'll be old enough she should remember it, and hopefully it won't be raining all day long. And now that the baby is in bed, it's time for us to have some Hot Apple Pies!
Hot Apple Pie
* 2 oz. Tuaca
* 1 oz. Apple Pucker Schnapps
* 1 splash Cinnamon Schnapps
* Apple cider to fill
* Slice of apple
* Cinnamon stick
* biscotti
Mixing instructions:
Stir all liquid ingredients together and heat. Garnish with apple and stick, serve with biscotti. _________________ Counselor Faith Tempest

Since most Bible Belt states have done Halloween yesterday (Halloween on a Sunday is the devil's work!), I might as well go through what I did.
A group of friends and I started off with a matinee showing of Saw. That was great. Wasted two hours afterward at an Applebees, reminiscing and devouring several servings of their chocolate dessert. When it was sufficiently dark enough, we went to a neighboring town (a spit in the road, really; "Cecil") and participated in the Corn Field Maze that they do every Halloween.
For those unaware, Corn Field Mazes are pretty much like haunted houses... just in corn fields and maze-like. This particular one had several people dressed up as Jason, a few zombies, a few whacked-out clowns, and a handful of mutilated people that looked like they were in a bad car wreck. Ah, it was great. Took us 20 minutes to find out way out. I think it was worth the 15$ admission price; the memories alone were awesome.
So after all of that I drove home and noticed that one of the old ladies in my neighborhood had put Caution tape all around her house. She's one of those people that do nothing all day but upkeep their yard. Rain or shine, she's going to make sure that yard looks better than everyone else's. She goes so far as to put up signs on the perimeter of the yard that say "This is not your dog's toilet" .. and they have a picture of a dog taking a shit with a red-x through it. It was so hilarious because she's never done the caution tape before.
And then I got home. And I went to sleep.
Awesome.

PS: Faith, your daughter is positively scary. Ladybugs are so evil.
PPS: Your apple pie recipe wins, too, because it has Schnapps. _________________

As of right now, I have done nothing but sleep. And it is likely going to be nothing else interesting as I know no one here except my roommate and a couple of his friends. No car and no money for costumes either. That's okay though, I haven't done anything for Halloween for the last few years. _________________ Help! Help! I'm being oppressed! |

I did my part of a group-assigned 20 page Marketing Research project paper and started work on another 20-page paper for Services Marketing.
Whee!
Oh, and I wasted lots of that time by playing in HR.

spent my first year without my daughter on halloween. Celebrated my best friends boyfriends birthday by having breakfast at the casino and gambling, which they started drinking at 9 am , then went back to thier place to watch the chiefs game, which we won, and watch them drink even more, then had a barbque, and watched them drink, yes, even more. Spent three hours staring at a phone waiting to get a call to pick up my daughter which I finally got at 8:30. Picked her up and went home!

Basically, was running back and forth from the Halloween party IG, to my front door to give out candy to the kiddies. And boy were they disappointed we had no Haunted House this year. Went through about 12 or more bags of candy, probably had about 200 or so trick or treaters. And it turned into a perfect Halloween night, weatherwise. The wind picked up yesterday, so it was nice and windy, dry and chilly last night, a wonderful Halloween all in all!!!! _________________ All explorers are seeking something they have lost.
