I'm not going to quote anymore. I'll just ready everything and my put my comments all together. Then you can stop complaining, poor baby, and you won't have to scroll so much. Tada! ^.^

Sweet, thanks. That's all I ask.

Hahaha. Now you'll have to put up with never knowing what's going on!

Yanno, if people just asked NICELY and didn't get bitchy about it, it'd be all fine. My comment about sticks in asses still stands though.

Im sorry, but I cant resist this...I thought you werent going to quote anymore? Very next post you do, you quote..hehehe Twisted Evil

These quotes are automatic! They just pop up when you reply.

to stuff Yaru said: You're so nice and full of love and joy! I'm so glad I'm not you. ^.^

See? Quoting more then one person in a post sucks and is annoying and makes me use a text document to get em all in. Reply is so much EASIER! Why do you all have to have such large sticks on your butts?

I bet it's the beef about the post counts. Am I right or am I right?

Why do post counts matter? William and Yaru post more per day then most people! It's not like we'll catch up.

Hey, Kit. Or Kit's Player. That's really damn tedious by the way, so just assume if I address you as Kit on this board, and it's not an IC thread (so, virtually the entire board), I mean your player. Anyway, back to my point...

Do you realize that what you posted above is basically saying, "See how much my last post sucked? It was easier for me to do my old way." Then you don't understand why we prefer it this way because it sucked for you to do it that way.

What's my point? Your entire comment was about you. Then you threw the whole thing onto everyone else by commenting about post counts. People could really care less about post counts. Seriously. No one gives a shit. The only time they come up is as a joke.

It's annoying when people use 25 million replies because it takes up a lot more space on the screen when you do so. Additionally, people also generally expect someone else to come after your post, and so you expect to see a reply next. It's a silly little thing, but if someone decides to skim over your post and move on, it totally throws them off if the next post is... you again!

It's just people's preference. And to be quite frank, I've violated this standard many a time myself. Sometimes because I was being lazy, sometimes because I felt my update was important enough I didn't want someone to miss it by not seeing a new post since editing a post doesn't mark it as a new post for people.

Any way you look at it, the truth is that a) this is actually common sense; b) it's common on a number of boards as a standard; c) you will see a plethora of posters on this board that follow this standard and very few who do not. But you know what? Some people do violate this practice from time to time. No one has ever brought up this issue before, however. Not once has someone said, "Okay soandso, you're doing this and it sucks." So why you?

I point back to my previous statement. You've earned a reputation of being arrogant and bitchy. Probably because that's the impression people acquired of you in the very short time you've been posting. When people have this impression of you, it tends to color all future impressions as well, and while people will tolerate things like the reply-posting issue from a nice/decent person, if they think the guy is an ass to boot, they just decide they've had enough and they let it fly.

In short, if you actually do care to be an accepted member of the community, the solution is to a) Stop reacting to posts, stop defending yourself. Understand that you earned this reputation. Because you did. b) Earn a better reputation with the locals. And finally, respect the posting etiquette rather than bitch about how inconvenient it is. Etiquette has never existed as a device of convenience. At least not to ourselves. In fact, etiquette is almost always the opposite. We inconvenience ourselves to some degree, for the convenience or appreciation of others.

Hmm, putting others first. Now there's an idea.

I have to put myself first. I'm American. Point taken, though, boss. I'll just keep my posts to the Tech board or to the OOC folder with little games or to the general folder when something in the game is wonky. ^.^ There's no reason bothering to keep posting here since I just create scroll anyhow! Have a pleasant day.

Maybe it's just me, but...that's one of the most unAmerican and offensive things I can think of someone saying in response to Trevor's post.

I tend to violate the standard of awkwardly interjecting stupid things to derail threads that confuse me.

Not because of post counts, mind you; just because I like awkwardly interjecting stupid things to derail threads that confuse me.

Okay. Seriously. The next person to attack someone else is officially declared a sniveling whiny bitch. I might even make that your rank title.

As someone who spent a good chunk of my life putting my life in danger for this country, whose Father was buried with a flag draped over his coffin and a 6 gun salute and F-16 flyover, whose brother was in desert storm and has medical problems from something that occured in Kuwait, I am so deeply offended by that statement I cant even express it here. Go join the military and then tell me being American means putting yourself first. Don't insult me by saying you're an American!! I'm sorry Trevor and everyone but Kit, but I am so pissed I am shaking. Kit, you cut me to the core and if you were at my last command and made that statement, it's somewhat doubtful you would have made it home in one piece...better yet, please DON'T ever join the military. I don't want my buddies depending on the likes of you. Your arrogance and general attitude are no longer entertaining!

Yes, you certainly took our point well. "Kit, please continue to post annoyingly... in another folder." *thumbs up*.

Nothing to do with no joking, Kit. Some things I, personally, feel are too important to joke about (if you can call what you said joking...sorry, different sense of humor than I have, obviously).

Giving respect to someone or something is earned. Giving respect is also learned. Unfortunately, not all can be taught that, any more than not all can be respected, I guess.

While it was intended as a jab at Bush, this really wasn't the time or place to make political commentary. As is probably obvious by how "out of context" it was taken.
