While I don't know if this will be an ability Yaru would be prone to using, I personally think it's great that you gave us this ability.

Thank you for the job well done.

As a question, is it safe to assume that if we choose to learn body art at level 10, we won't be giving up learning something else later on?

ie:
At level 10 we can learn X Y or Z
At level 20 we can learn one of the two we didn't learn yet.
At level 30 we learn the last one
OR
At level 10 we learn X
At level 20 we learn Y
At level 30 we learn Z

?

The bodyart ability is by no means a Boon. It is one of the many abilties I have planned for Artisans to learn as you progess in skill level and overall level. So if you choose to learn the bodyart ability now you are not going to miss out on another down the road.

Also, the scrolls that are available in the Tiny Hut are a fraction of what will be available once the new experience system rolls out. The bodyart system was created with the 500 skill cap level in mind.

YAY for body art, Thank you VERY much.

Since we now have a use for painting is there any chance that we can get more uses for it. Say maybe to paint portraits of players and NPC's and scenic things, abstract art and such that we could sell and would have our names on them and the year created for those that wish to decorate thier houses and such? Not to mention to add to our Im sorry to say but boring art museum?

I think it would be an awesome form of income for artisans.

Awesome. Smile

I take it that since the level prereq is 10, it takes 30 painting to learn the first pattern? What IS the first pattern, too? Is the list of scrolls the order of difficulty?

There are more things planned that will use the painting skill, and yes that will include being able to paint on canvas and other mediums. Just not a definite when. Wink

The minimum painting skill to learn the first design is 30, and the menu is listed in degree of difficulty. So the first design you could learn with 30 in painting would be the Shooting Star design. (There are 6 designs you could learn right off the bat with that skill level in painting)

The tattoos are temporary, but if for some reason you wish to remove yours before it wears off naturally you can purchase Ishaik solvent from the Tiny Hut.

Ishaik tattoos may be inked on any of the following areas:

face back right bicep left calf

Thank you Valla and Mickey. I was surprised to see this so soon. I know you had mentioned it Valla but I had understood that we would not see anything new until after the exp changes. Thank you for the early treat. So glad I started training painting after you told us. So nice to have an artisan only thing too! Thanks!

Ok, the art of Ishaik was just kinda thrown at us. I really do appreciate it, so much I got another reallocation to train Painting, which I stopped training because a certain 8 year old alteri said it was useless *Laughs*. Not blaming him, just joking.

Ok, no one really likes word games, and if it wasn't easy enough to figure out, I'll post the syntax I'VE figured out.

INK - Main command for tattooing others.
INK LIST - Gives a list of Ishaik Patterns you know.
INK AREAS - Locations on which can be inked.

Actually painting on someone or yourself
INK <DESIGN> ON <PERSON> <LOCATION>

Note: Not sure if it matters which hand they're in, haven't experimented yet, but you need to be holding a brush and some dye. Also a friend asked if the brushes had differant uses, I was pretty sure they didn't, but I'll look into it.
*Edit* It doesn't matter which hand the dye and brush are in!

Using Solvent:
APPLY SOLVENT TO INK

Note: Solvent is a one-time use, so if you plan on just experimenting or painting for fun, stock up.

I'm also investigating how long the ishaik tattoo's last, and how many applications the dyes have. If anyone already knows this, please post it.

And for referance and those who don't know, it is only permitted you have one Ishaik tattoo at a time.

*Edit*Another thing I'd like to know, and I'm pretty sure it's a dumb question, but does Research aid in studying the scrolls?

You're friendly neighborhood Tailor and recently Tattoo Artist,
Seth Ventril.

Just a few followups --

The only syntaxes available for inking are provided by INK (which directs you to INK LIST), and INK LIST (which documents usage, and references INK AREAS). That's the extent of the commands.

APPLY SOLVENT works by itself for solvents; at least, that's what I had in mind when I set it up. Anything else is just extra string-age that gets ignored. (i.e. APPLY SOLVENT TO FIFTY-FOOT MONSTER probably works as well)

While it was a surprise that Body art came when it did, it was not without warning. There were three artisan's there When Valla told us more details about the Body Art. We were told that is would be artisan only and that it would be based off of painting skill. Now I know we were told this because I would not have known otherwise. Thankfully I heard it when it was said and I was able to plan for training up my painting skill which I had previously heard was going to be removed.

Edit: It was also discussed with us that painting was planned as something to be useful once housing was available.

Oh, I know. But I don't want Yaru to learn painting. He makes a big enough mess as it is. His skills are spread out too thin as it is, and I'd rather not make things worse.

Body art ROCKS!!!! Seth gave me a tattoo and it's awesome:

You have a flawless silver ishaik tattoo of a deserted seashore bathed in the light of a shimmering crescent moon on your lower back.

Yay!!!!

P.S. Thanks again, Seth!
