We're gearing up for some really heavy dev on live. We kinda had a dormant period for a while now, mainly because we've been focusing on the test game to keep you guys happy, interested, all that fun stuff. But it's really time to buckle down and get going on the future of Haelrahv.
So I want to do something I've done before to a point: Ask for your ideas for live. Not necessarily all your ideas, but a few of the really big ones you want to see in live. Stuff test doesn't have, doesn't have the way you'd like, or stuff in test that you love and hope to see in live too.
So... post away! _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Well, besides the stuff that's been said a hojillion times before (takedowns, bounty system, law, etc.)...
I think it'd be pretty neat if we could get pets that could do things for us (like familiars)... locate people for mercs, forage or help fish or something like that for trackers, things like that. I'd like to see really big, non-backpack containers, because while I hate wearing a backpack (I think it looks stupid, especially while fighting), I don't want to give up all the space I have in there. A big haversack, or some rare containers that are like bags of holding (with restrictions, of course). Something like that.
Umm... I don't have any more ideas right now, but maybe later. |

On the pets thing: In addition to pets and mounts, psionics will have their spirits and mages will have elementals/familiars/etc.
Thanks for the ideas. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I would like to see shops that sold items made by players. Here is a example, bureaucrats could sell items on commission for others in shops, we would have to have the crat procure a special license(which would have to be renewed , say every thirty days or so) for us to sell. We could then stock what we made (let's say a mage wishes to sell potions to the general public, not just make them and sell them to the alchemy shop) in the store, the crat and the shop would both get a small percentage of the profits for their time and effort. The player who made the items could go in and check the inventory, restock if they wished, ect.. The items sold would have to be of high quality, which means it would most likely be the higher level players making the items, but they would be available to those who are unable to make said items for themselves.
Artisians - jewerly, tailoring..
Merc - weapons, armor?
Agents - posions, lockpicks, wrenchs
Trackers - tailoring, animal handling, armor (light)?
Performers - musical items
Mages - potions
Those are just a few of the things i think of for some of professions being able to excel at and be able to offer to the community at large. Then again i might be totally of off the mark. _________________ Sway..... |

1. tailoring stuffed animals. (Aidan wants a kitty made. heh)
2. spear-fishing
3. a marksmanship version of the splattergun
4. HOMES!
5. homes with their own stoves and crucibles!
6. a legal system of handling PVP killing.
7. a casino
8. embroidering specific people and words on items.
ex: You tap a chith backpack with the image of Neifl pointing a cake
knife at you in a shade of red. Written under it is the
words, "Make me a sandwich."
9. making candy like Bon bons
10. medicinal herbs or salves that heal the eyes.

It's a good idea. Or maybe in-game auction houses where the items are grouped by catagory and you can browse them via some kind of computer. I know we've discussed something similar in the past.
But I do think that very high level characters should eventually be able to have actual shops of their own. _________________ Arden [hr-arden@haelrahv.com]

- Vehicles for players.
- Weapon/armor forging/making. Gunsmithing/fletching.
- A casino/amusement park type place, maybe with a fighting arena that players could compete in and bet on. A place to blow money.
- Wars/Invasions with a little NPC interaction.
- Weather.
- The infamy system you talked about before would be cool too.
- More mini quests, more interaction with NPC's. Enough NPC's to make the area look populated if it's supposed to be that way(thinking of the current castle here, place is like a tomb <g>).
Other ideas people have posted I wont re-post. Thats it for now, Im sure Ill think of more soon. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

Yeah, uh.. I play Eaxia once in a while and Exxy did a great job with the looting system (except the problem with skill gains that *I* had to fix myself <thwap Exxy). I'd like to blatantly rip off on the idea and use it, probably with some modifications of course. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

These ideas are more profession oriented. . .
'crats-
More involving cases with trials and such if that would be possible.
troopers-
the whole on/off duty thing that has been talked about already
mercs-
contracts of course
artisans-
paintings. . .and an art gallery to go with it. . .a place to publicly display an artisans work, be it painting, pottery etc.
medics-
maybe an on/off duty type thing for them as well, having them work at the hospital, maybe take care of some NPC's as well as PC's, a paramedic squad with transportation out to hunting area. . helicopters/ambulances etc., surgery
agents-
true stealthy attacks as i posted before, of course they would need to be altered to make them mechanically realistic
technicians-
more droids, combat droids with weapon upgrades and the like
mages-
elementals and familiars, already noted that i see, maybe have some kinda skill where they can work with artisans and imbue items with magical properties at higher levels/skill
psionics-
an ability which enables them to control the minds of weak-willed critters/monsters and make them do things. . .defend the psionic/attack another critter
performers-
they have alot of cool stuff already and i dont know much about them. . .
guardians-
id like to see them become more unique in their fighting abilities, give them profession-only moves that distinguishes them from other combat guilds in regards to unarmed combat
trackers-
the ability to set traps in wilderness areas to catch critters, set fishing traps as well, catch horses or other wild life critters
Also id like to add that it would be cool to have a 'job' system where anyone could get a job. A medic could get a job at the hospital, a performer at a bar, a 'crat in a courthouse etc. Im not sure how realistic this possibility is but it would be cool.
The whole 'infamy' idea as well. An artisan could gain fame for being a good artist and having alot of their work in the gallery. A merc for never failing a contract. A trooper for arresting the most criminals. And so on. . . _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

*Mumbles, "I know I'm new to all this civilized stuff, and that my opinions don't count for much, if anything, but you asked....so...
I would like to see:
1) Housing Option - Treehouses, Houses, Caves, perhaps even Underwater Caverns that have air. The ability to maintain, garden, decorate indoors and outdoors, buy AND definately MAKE furniture and goodies. Cooking apparatus's such as a stove or grill and definately don't forget the BBQ. Also having the chance to store things in closets and cubby holes. Why not even give us the ability to study carpentry so that we can build our own homes. *grin*
2) Vault Options - Ability to rent more vault space. Renting special type's of safes or vaults.
3) Labs/Workshops - Being able to rent, lease, or buy other types of workshops or labs for crafts and trades besides alchemy. Each type would have the appropriate equipment installed, if rented, or having a shop that would allow the person to buy the necessary equipment for their lab/workshop.
4) Craft/Trade Options - I know we have some absolutely fantastic crafts but I'd like to see more Tradeskills brought in such as the ability to make certain types of items...Armorsmithing, Weaponsmithing, Carpentry, Bonecarving, Bookbinding and/or Authoring. We definately need a library.
5 Pet Options - More pets and more verbs to interact with said pets. With pets comes the necessity to nurture these pets and heal them when hurt, so we'd need Trackers to be able to become Veterinarians.
6) Orders/Guilds - I would like to see more stuff for guilds/orders or whatever they'll be called. I don't know what you already have planned for them so far, but I would like to see more than what we have so far in test phase.

I'd like to be able to THINK to Counsellor controller characters. Of course, I'm probably the only one who finds this annoying, so if it'd be a pain, don't bother *grins*. I also want a house real bad. |

I second Tugors idea on NPC people that come to the hospital and on-duty medics can heal them....it seems so obvious an idea for me to have thought up...the only way it can be explained I didn't is that you have some kind of....thought stealing device. _________________

We have very, very, very intentionally blocked comms, thoughts etc directly to staff. We'd never get any work done otherwise. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
