I'm having the worst time hunting. Kit's a few hours away from hitting 68th. He has 84 in mentality, 94 in coordination, 92 in perception, and 247 in pulse. Up until level 66, he could get pretty good experience from Tzon Forest, pretty good treasure, and still get hit a bunch by nets and shotgun slugs.
Now, the experience won't move at all. So fine, I go to Nowbi. Both times I've been there, Kit's died within 2 minutes. Fighters aren't an issue, but shaman/priestesses in that same little area stroll in, prep, cast...and in one spell, in the same amount of time it takes to aim and fire at their heads (why I bother, I don't know, I always hit their feet), Kit's dead. THAT means I have to wait for a medic. And then I have to try and figure out a way to get experience again.
There has to be an easier way to do this. What I've been doing lately is just going up to tzon, letting trappers wail on the cyber parts, and fixing them. That's the only fairly good way I can get Kit's mind bar to move. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Yeah, I'm not really understanding the "issue". If you have a weapon that does one shot of 20 damage and another weapon that does 2 shots of 10 damage, you aren't doing more or less damage. In fact, if you are using ammunition that lends itself favorably to damage, you are getting double benefit from the weapon with a ROF of 2.
The rifle is not inherently less or more effective than the sidearm. In fact, the rifle is slightly more effective in that it requires less aiming time.
So I would say at this point that there is no need to tweak handguns down or rifles up. The main difference is that this specific rifle splits its damage between two shots. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Kit: You simply need more choices of what to hunt, and we're working on this. How do you fare vs. vacori or getok hounds? _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I haven't tried mainly because they don't carry boxes. Paladins are actually easier for me then nowbi are and less dangerous...but they're good aligned. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Actually, I can't hit a grag at all....not even occasionally, I meant.
It says I cannot use Fly Kick with my 31 in atheletics.
...and, I'm sending you a log of a spar with a 10th level psionic that cleaned up on me. He hid, I hid. I came out and searched and it was over during my RT. Seems I should have some resistance to the attacks. Pierce, wipe, and paralyze all suceeded repeatedly. Amazing to me that with my evasion I couldn't dodge one hit. |

Ok......I figured 99 was enough unarmed. Maybe next level I can use Fly kick.
Another question.....does charisman affect RT for unarmed attacks? Anya's only stat higher than me is charisma, but she has 8 second RT on pummel and mine is 10 seconds. |

Nope, but check for stat bonuses, and also compare stances. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

it's more that a store bought gun lands awe inspiring hits, and can kill in two bullets, while a festival gun lands hits that are notably worse, and kill in six to eight bullets.
it's actually bad to use a festival weapon, because the hits are amazingly weaker.
a rifle holds 30 bullets. it takes six to eight bullets to kill something. so, one clip can kill off, at best, five guys.
a sidearm holds 15 bullets, and it takes two hits (three at worst) to kill something. so one clip can kill off ~seven guys.
sidearms also load faster because the clips are smaller, they're notably lighter, and the ammo is cheaper.
i'm not sure how it looks number-wise, but sidearms are amazingly better to use than something that was quite costly, festival only, and using a larger caliber bullet.
it's like if a darju bloodletter and a store bought rdivlkot had the same attack roundtime, and for some reason the rdivlkot killed faster. that's how i'm seeing the sidearm/tg-23x situation. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I looked more closely and found what were more or less minor math errors and rounding problems. Because there's a lot of floating point and integer translation going back and forth (and translating a float to an integer always means losing any remainder, be it .00001 or .99999) there will be some minor level of inconsistency, but I put in modifications which I believe will stablize things a little.
I also found that the damage bonus due to certain ammunitions was ridiculously high, in some cases increasing damage up to 90% above normal, and this was corrected. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

just curious but were thrown weapons damage decreased recently?
Ignore this I seem to of overlooked something. I would however be curious what the best thrown weapon is out there damage wise _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."

I really really hate to mention this since I was probably the loudest voice on the topic but since poison damage on critters was increased it seems to be REALLY effective now. Now I really dont mind at all but I am not sure if it was intended to be this much better. I am heading out to Nowbi to test it on them soon just to make sure. So far I have only tested it on kuchos and guards.
I am probably going to kick myself for even mentioning it but ah well _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."

well heres what I got so far from hitting nowbi just enough to poison them
archers, fighters and priestess pulses 2 to 3 times before dying and usually only took one strike to poison them
Champions usually took a couple strikes to poison and then died after 3 to 4 pulses
now if I continue to strike they usually die on the first pulse due to the fact I can normally get 4 to 5 hits in before they pulse the first time
I dont know, I may have been wrong about it being to powerful because I have never actually sat back after poisoning it and just watched them die. _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."
