Well, I only just started reading the boards.
I'm excited about droids. I hope they don't become sellable. My main guy is a tech and is so far useless. Can't even do upgrades before 4th anymore. I'll get there, I suppose. |

It's a long path, but its definitely rewarding to reap the benefits as you go. Once you reach there, many people will be requesting your services, and not only for cyberware upgrades.
I'm mulling over releasing a watered-down version of droids sometime soon.. I'm thinking since nobody will have the skills to make a combat droid anytime in Llanfair's life, that I'll release one model with some technical equipment available as add-ons.
What are your views? Be warned, that the MINIMUM level I will make these available at is 5, quite possibly higher, and they will be expensive. So by supporting this, only a few people are going to be able to get them anytime soon. _________________ -HGM Zoz Bryant |

I support it whole heartedly. Right now, if I were to have to speak honestly, I'd say that Technicians are one othe lesser l33t classes without their droids....Gabriel Nick and Terf are probably going to kick my ass. But with droids I'm sure they'll be almost close to medics...Medic's outdistancing everyone by like a mile of course. |

Yes, I'd put my brain in a robot body.

Yay techs rule!!

6 different types of droids, ranging from the quick and stealthy AD (air drone) to the mobile fortress that is the MAD (massive armored droid).
Espionage equipment that allows droids to find people, spy and relay visual information, and even CLOAK (smaller droids only).

Please excuse me while I die of happiness. Droids rock. It's one of the main reasons I joined this profession...heh...mindless squads of little robots at my beck and call! Having little bug drones is just really awesome to me.

Having a full techie pouch filled with techie sensors and IDers and wires sound really sweet! I wanna tricorder! Or a pokedeck! Or the HR equivalents.

Every droid has a set number of slots in their head, torso, arms, and legs that can be filled with a mix and match of any kind of parts that you wish, be it weaponry or technical equipment. However, slots are limited so that very espionage-inclined droids won't have much room for weapons, and vice versa. |
Nice idea. Having custom drones are what all techies would have anyone. Who'd want the same old things as everyone else?

Core equipment includes voice emulators, personality chips, and 'skins' (overall scheme of appearance for the droids). Coupled with the customizeability of each slot's equipment makes droids extremely custom-built. |

Please please please I want this stuff and I wanna build myself a cool motorcycle and a hovercraft and implant sensors in armor and weapons too! |

There's a MAD sitting in Droidworks right now, next to the Cyber Clinic. It's not buyable yet, but it's there for you to gawk at.
As far as customizability goes, I plan on making droids even more customizable, particularly when it comes to outward appearance. Not just "skins" as Zoz was talking about. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |

And what about bigger stuff? Rideable droids? Other machines? I think making battle bots is cool...but what about motorcycles and stuff like that? |

Me too! I'd rather work on motorcycles though. That would be so cool, owning my own garage or tech lab and doing repairs/upgrades on bikes and weapons. |

As far as I know, the Driving skill is on hold, and may not be included in Live, so no cars/motorcycles yet. If they DO get included, it would be a pretty complex system, but I'd make it fun for you guys. Maybe cars, motorcycles, dune buggies, ATVs, down to motorized scooters.
However, until I find out if this is feasible or not, I wouldn't hold my breath on it. _________________ Something wicked this way comes... |
