Rather bored with nothing to do, and I know almost everyone has at least *one* webcomic they read, so I figured I'd post my list with some explanation of what the comic is about. Note: All links go straight to the first page of the webcomic.
-VGCats. Standard video game webcomic using cats as characters and a crazy hobo as a doctor. Moderately safe for work (some cussing, violence, and pixelated nudity for comedic effect.) This comic has no continuity, and is just a series of comedic strips (though the humor will most likely be lost on those who don't play games or atleast keep up with them.) http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=0
-Erfworld. A pretty good story-based webcomic that panders to the idea of a Turn-Based Strategy world come real. The graphics are good, the story itself is great. I wouldn't call it a serious webcomic, but it's by no means a pure comedy. Safe for work. http://www.giantitp.com/comics/erf0001.html
-8-Bit Theatre. My first webcomic, a spoof re-telling of Final Fantasy 1. Not much more I can say about it other than it's hilarious, and mostly safe for work (mild cussing, if I recall, and some violence.) http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=010302
-Ctrl+Alt+Del. Another video-game based webcomic, though this one has much more continuity than VGCats. Safe for work, and pretty damn funny. http://ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20021023
-Penny Arcade. Yet another video game webcomic, with no continuity (Though there are a few strips that tie together, and they give nod to the past, but there's no real story being told). Violence, cussing, and big words. So probably not safe for work, depending where you work that is. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/1998/11/18
-Order of the Stick. A webcomic hosted by the same site as Erfworld (unsure if they share staff). It's based off of D&D 3.5 and tells a larger tell while remaining humorous at the same time. Worksafe. http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0001.html
-Cyanide & Happiness. A very very dark comic, often tasteless comedy in its strips. But if that's your thing, you might find it extremely comedic. http://www.explosm.net/comics/1098/
-Girl Genius. My newest favorite. Just started reading it not too long ago, already all caught up. The graphics are amazing and the story is beautifully written and extremely engaging. It's a steampunk comic that was slated to be sold as a comic, before the writers decided to host it online while releasing volumes to comic shops. Mild violence, a few occurances of foul language (very few), and the running around of females in Victorian-era undergarments (which, amazingly, still manages to cover more than modern day full day-wear outfits *snicker*). http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20021104
I've also read MegaTyoko, which was a pretty good webcomic though not good enough to keep my attention in it during the painfully slow upgrades (and it's all done in either sketch-style, or inked, but never color). Also Dinosaur Comics (a comic that uses dinosaurs to discuss morals, philosophy, and comedy) is another good one, though I quit reading it simply because it wasn't all that engaging to me. _________________ Victim: Well, what is the creed?

Victim: Aren't you already killing me anyway?
Assassin: That's a good point...The creed is..."Stick them with the pointy end." - Ctrl+Alt+Del parody of Assassin's Creed.

I used to enjoy Sluggy Freelance and Sinfest, but I don't keep up with anything anymore.
I actually liked MegaTokyo enough to buy the first volume when it came out. |
