Currently, does adding more sugar than is needed, or more yeast, do anything?

I know that you can't add more yeast. Not unless Randall changed that. _________________ Lick or Be Licked |

I was talking to Mellie yesterday, and she says she dumped a buttload of sugar into a batch once. She claims the price went up noticeably when she tried to sell it.

unless every 1500 units of sugar increase the value by over $1k, it probably isn't worth it (or at least a bug worth abusing. i mean fixing sure. but abusing? ). _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Tao is right, more yeast, not possible.
Currently, extra sugar does not change anything, that will change sometime, but not soon. |

Just thought I'd make a profit/time analysis of berry picking itself.
I've been picking berries and selling them en masse for $1k per bundle of 100. This is good for me since it's relatively easy cash and it works out for the other person because they're still making a fairly nice profit margin when they sell their wine. I'm probably going to raise my price per bundle to $1500/ea, though, but that's neither here nor there for this example.
Over roughly a 10 hour period of running my berry picking script in the background (granted, there were some breaks in there), I averaged $6500/hr. This is with March of Time and absolutely no ecology skill beyond the natural Eolai starter points, so I was getting 2 or 3 berries every eleven seconds.
Whereas my previous business venture was slightly less profitable. I used to script-notate Empowering Sonata and would sell them for somewhere in the ballpark of $980/ea. Without march of time, because I was too lazy to work it into my script, my roundtimes normally ranged from 25-35 seconds and I'd normally manage +5% completion per notation. That's 10min per completed spellsong, or about $6000/hr. Give or take. And that's with the skill required to learn Empowering Sonata, plus whatever skills/stats/level are required to get +5% completion (which I believe is the cap) at each attempt.
Now, personally I'm okay with this. I don't really need a whole buttload of cash sitting in my character's bank account. If I did, I'd just make the wine myself instead of selling the berries to Mellie. I just figured I'd let people know. Hell, the money would probably even out between notating and full on winemaking if I were to figure out how many hours it took to age a bottle of wine to be worth $10,000. Which I'd be interested in knowing if anybody could share.
Anyway, I like that two completely different creation systems have similar payouts. So far I've been kind of whiny about this system not requiring cooking, but I'll concede now that I realize how much it relies on time to produce its big buxx.

I've had a bottle of Loshaereie wine for over a month, (I don't know the exact date, but it's probably about 2-8), and it's at 9,330 currently. That's my highest priced wine.
Also, your current business entirely depends on your customer's willingness to keep making wine, making it more of a gamble than notating, where the shop will always buy. _________________ >ask librarian about books

Good point about my business being a completely demand-side one. However, I have a couple good customers that are on a decent rotation.
I just hope people don't get tired of wine-making anytime soon.

just dropping a note here because hey maybe i just missed something.
i have loshaereie wine that i've made over 10 days ago, and it's yet to age. does it just age a lot slower than others or what? most wines would go up in price after a week. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

No this was a random lag in the increase in prices, it will do that every so often, used to simualte a stagnated market for 6-14 days. None of the wines should have increased in this time |
