So...I've heard a couple different rumors about this skill. I know way back when it used to let us handle multiple foes. But on returning, I had heard because engagement system was disabled, that it was somewhat useless. I also heard people trained it just for the sake of having. I needed the extra skillpoints to train up my appraisal for jewelry crafting, then last night Mickey reinstates the engagement system. So I ask:
Tactics, useless or useful? Should I really divert skill points into it to train it up so it won't bite me in the ass later...OR should I not divert skill points into it?
If it helps, I really only hunt for purposes of skins/hides/pelts, and I may only train up combats to haoweisho. Not sure yet. But I'm not hunting everyday. I prefer to tailor to fill my mind.

It has a direct impact on your ability to score critical hits in combat, so unless you don't fight or don't use anything but magic/psionics, it's definitely useful.

I'm not too much worried about how long it takes me to kill something, or getting critical hits.
I do hunt, alot, for skins and pelts...
What I want to know is...If I *don't* train it...Am I screwing myself over by not being able to handle *Multiple* opponents?

Under the existing system and with no ES in place, no. However, I wouldn't assume this will always be the case, either.

Reactivated to the degree that any mobs previously running under the ES are now using it again.

I assume that with the full engagement system out now, Tactics is back to determining with (The proper stats) how much it takes before you're outnumbered?
Tactics = Multi-Opponent?
