What skills does this use? I can see appraisal being used heavily, and craftsmanship, I'm just not 100% sure...
Also, is there an easiest gem to work with?

it's more craftsmanship than appraisal right now. appraisal is going to be used for faceting, but i have zero clue if that will ever be released now or if it's just going to be in Live.
i can't recall what gems are easier, but just to make things more complicated i think the shape you make the gem matters too.

Well, I was trying circles, and a canary diamond *chuckle* I didn't expect to be able to do it at 5th promotion, but was hoping to do it just bad enough that I could learn the process via hands on.
