Alternatively titled, "Comcast Sucks".

I have a tech scheduled to come out Monday morning to check the lines and likely swap out the UBR (cable modem/router). We've had probably four different UBR's in the last year, and completely new lines have been run out here, but problems still raise their ugly head from time to time. Lately (past 24-48 hours) players get randomly dropped en masse. While they can log back in quickly, it's still annoying and I'm pressing Comcast on the matter.

We've also had a problem wherein the UBR loses its configuration which only Comcast can correct, and this has caused two downtimes of several hours in the past 30 days. I am hoping new equipment will also correct this problem.

Comcast has advised me that a problem in the area has been located and they'll be working on it. It is possible, but not assured, that the problem will be fixed today.

There is a possibility of some downtime, should their maintenance work require it.

Just an update -

I'm keeping on Comcast about this. There's been a total of at least four techs involved on the task, but they seem pretty clueless as to the actual problem/solution. It's some sort of intermittent issue in the area, that's all we know. However, I'll keep on them about it and hopefully have this resolved soon.
