This is about ten minutes long, but it's worth it!

The geek in me is coming out when I feel forced to comment that they did not -actually- LARP, at least the way I understand it. I have yet to go LARPing, though I plan to and my boyfriend has gone once. LARP, at least around here, involves foam-padded 'boffer' weapons and Ren Faires. The geeks in the movie were table-top gaming, which is something that I participate in every time I get the chance. They were, I assume, playing D&D, which I like even though the system is confusing.
Anyway, I didn't really find that as amusing as I probably should have, being a gamer myself. But the two girls flipping them off was awesome. |

they're LARPing geeks. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!
With a high-pitched cry, The Modan Kucho collapses in death. |

LARPing is just what they were doing when they were ACTUALLY sword fighting. I found the viedo quite stereotypical and amusing. I've been playing AD&D for over 16 years now. I'm 32 and some friends and I still get together on a fairly regular basis to play. We don't LARP but we do enjoy a good table game and we do use minis, some model scenery etc.
When they were talking about being elite gamers and they don't like other gamers who they invited to play with them, I felt their pain. We tried letting a few people join us, but we're a little more realistic in our approach to fantasy gaming. Wierd huh? We don't have dragon, demon or vampire characters. Although, we do have a party of undead hunters.
Anyway, i figured some AD&D style players might get some simblance of enjoyment out of the flick like I did. _________________ You hack your way through a very young fisherman's back. It may not have been pretty, but it got the job done.

I haven't gotten to follow the link to the video yet, but is that the one where the druid kid says that God knows his sister-in-law is sterile? _________________ Mickey Brunner

Kaelin Rae says, "You mean they have a COKE machine that dispenses beer."
Kaelin Rae nods to you.
Kaelin Rae says, "Greaser."
Kaelin Rae looks at you and sighs. |
