According to this chart, every room of a luxury home has 12 squares.

Currently trying to furnish our home, but have run out of room in some of the rooms.

Quote:
If the furnishing has capacity (i.e. a chest versus a lamp) it will hold squares x 4 items. So for furnishings of size 1, 2, 3, and 4 that is 4, 8, 12, and 16 items, respectively.

One of the rooms in question:

Code:
You also see a frosted crystal door, a small secret passage, a silbeinwood wardrobe with a silky ivory comforter on it, a white plush throw rug and a translucent glass wall sconce shaped like an elan rose.

The wardrobe holds 16 items, thus takes up 4 squares. 12-4=8.
The rug holds 4 items, thus takes up 1 square. 8-1=7.

The bed we wished to purchase has a capacity of 12 items, thus requires 3 squares. This should leave us with 4 squares free.

However, we cannot purchase the bed for that room.

Is the sconce unusually big? Doesn't hold anything, so I cannot determine the size of it.

Also just a nother lil quirk i noticed...

Our dining room chairs hold 8 items a piece. I dont know of anyone that would actually put 8 items on their chairs specially if you gonna use them for sitting at a table or something.

Thus if i want 4 chairs in my diningroom it takes up 8 spots of my 12.

And i didnt buy the 80k chairs, I bought the 5k cheapo's at the chod warehouse. *chuckle*

SOO since I bought a chandeleir and 4 chairs...my table now won't fit in the room

Actually, luxury shows 14 squares, and I'm having the same issues. Sad

Had planned for my living room:

sofa - 12/3
chair - 8/2
chair - 8/2
table - 8/2
rug - 4/1
wall art - ?
fireplace - ? (this doesn't matter though because I wasn't going to buy it yet)

I've purchased the sofa, the table and the rug, and now I can't add anything else.

I'm a little nervous now. I've not been buying a lot of furniture because I'm waiting to see what else there is coming out.

Also...if it's the chairs that are the problem....maybe they could just hold no items. Most people don't put stuff on chairs anyhow.

Trev, is there a way we could see how much space is left without having to appraise everything and do math? I can't add.

maybe add a survey line for home users that says something like "You notice that you have X amount of space left for furnishings"

myself and earthie experienced real problems when earthie made her purchases .

she wanted mini lab but also wanted to decorate and furnish her bedroom
so after appraising and counting up spacing we decided to put the mini lab in tha yard .

problem although when appraised crucibles stoves ect showed as lawn or room furnishings i was offered only to furnish a room not the lawn .

same with a firepit she wanted in her room showed as 1 space and lawn or room but gave option for lawn only

this really confused thge heck out of us both and resulted in earthie with a room full of stuff she could have out off till later buying .

our we at fault or is there a description problem with home lawn furnature ?

I do believe that the lawn can only have things that can not hold items for storage.

Firepit is for outdoors.
Fireplace is for indoors.
Lab things are only for indoors.

Turn Momma's room into Momma's lab and you guys are set! But leave my voodoo doll alone! Twisted Evil

It is a little misleading when furniture says you can use it on a lawn though.
