Was just curious if something happened? The day it came out i was able to skin exceptionally over 20 pelts, bout 5 nice and mangle only like 5 in about a 30 minute time frame (ish)
The next day i retrained again, same stats, same skills except i traded a bit of fishing for appraisal, now I can only get 1 pelt out of like 10, the rest i mangle.
Today again i tried, same thing...mangling most only getting one pelt out of about 5-6 kuchos. I have with my bonuses approx 250 in skinning, and was potioned up on every single stat. Not sure why one day i can skin exceptionally over and over and the next...nothing

injuries? did you have a fire going or any other kind of skinning bonus going the last time?

not to my knowledge, Glim had his circle thingies up but that only gave 3 skinning putting me to 250, had no fire the other night either. Hunting today and out of 7 so far i've gotten 2 exceptionals and 1 nice.
Gonna try with fire now

With a fire up and my skinning higher than that I was mangling over half the time.

The skinning req for kucho was modified, so yes they are harder to skin now. Our main goal was for them to be a challenge to skin, and at first they were way to easy to skin. Don't forget about Savvy, and that you can skin critters normal, quickly, and carefully.

yah i had almost every survival going, including savvy, skinning carefully, fire, and glim's wards put me to right at 270 and i was able to get a decent amount of skins, just couldnt move out of one room *grin*

I had every possible stat or skill bonus up I had at my disposal, including survival savvy and a fire, and was using skin carefully. Mangled over half the time. Skinning skill was about 280. Maybe I just had bad luck. Only killed about 20 before I gave up. Maybe I'll try again after the fest.
