II'll discuss it with Trevor. They won't be rentable unless you count the montly fee. _________________ You turn to Trevor Rage and ask, "What the fuck were you thinking?" |

I wasn't thinking rentable...more like...buyable. Like condos. But single roomed condos. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Edit: Disreguard this first part. I didn't see the coordination bonus. I was blind evidently!
Question still stands though:
Oh. And one more question. Could I stack workrooms? Like make one room a study AND a music room? _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I think I would want to have a meditation room, and a (at this point because it does give a better bonus to what techs do, with the lact of a electronics bonus) Woodworking shop.
woodworking for when I actually have things to take care of.. meditation to kickback and relax in. |

Will there be more homes added as time goes on or is this pretty much going to be it for a while? I'm just wondering because there don't seem to be many medium size homes in Llanfair. The ones in the 6.5 million range. Unless I missed them, I didn't see any in the Jaddan sector, the Darju sector, or the Eolai sector. The place I saw any was in the Alteri section.
If I missed them, someone please let me know. and I mean inside Llanfair... I don't really want to live anywhere I have to take a boat.
thanks,

I think owning or not owning a home has a certain appeal based on your stature in the game. If you are purchasing one just to say "I have more money than you do," then I think that is not really roleplaying but a narcissistic way of pointing out that you have this altruistic value on something that doesn't really matter. It's not WHAT you own or HOW MUCH you own in a game that makes your character, it's how you PLAY that character and what you DO with that character. A house is a prop. How much time would you spend in it? It's irrelevant. Storage? We could invent lockers and that would be ALOT cheaper than a home. You could be more cliqueish though by only allowing certain people into your abode. (Oh that is soooo snobbish.tsk tsk). I think alot of other games have spent way too much time on this and frankly I found most of the homes were eventually abandoned. Considering the amount of time these GM's have to spend coding, I think their time would be put to better use improving the overall game and making more props in the rooms (hidden things, etc.) and less on ITEMS to purchase. That is my opinion and it's worth at least a solid quarter!

For what it's worth, that is why i wanted to do the academy with yisi instead of get a home for yaru. i know people kept bringing up that we needed newbie areas or mentor groups or so on, so instead of asking and waiting for GMs to build an area, why not build the land myself and offer it to anyone who wants to use it for those purposes. mentor societies are normally player-run (with GM supervision), anyway, so why not just get the area made ourselves (well, with our IG money at least) to get the ball rolling and show how much we want such a thing in the game.
that, and i like the idea of building an area in HR but i didn't want to just make it sit there when i was done.

As soon as I purchase a home I will have next to no money left. ;.; I've been working hard since Trevor reannounced housing to have enough for it! Even at the cost of not going to any alterers or buying stuff at the fest! ;.; _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

well don't forget that room additions and workshops aren't a limited sale, so all you really need to buy is the land.

Yisi can have money when I have a fully up and running under ground lab of doom. If eka really can get 10% off, I'll have 2 mil after buying my home to add workshops and lawns and furniture. And then I'm probably gonna have nothing at all. I keep hoping to win it big on the Wheel of Seasons! _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

Speaking of the wheel, I made adjustments. You can now only bet on three seasons max instead of all 8 at once, 1 weather bet instead of both, 1 race instead of all. Loshei is its own category for this purpose. I also increased the max bet from $1K to $2K. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

It's MUCH more than just stature. I know this was taken out of context. But I want to do alot in my home. I want to live there, for one thing. (hang out when I'm idle) Sleep there, for another (be tucked in). I want to be able to say I'm going home (when I'm tired).
Also. True or not. I feel more of a sense of privacy there. or think I would. Some things are better said at home. heh
