Common Name: Aefafe or Flamewood
 
Description: Aefafe trees, more commonly known as flamewood trees, are a source of extreme heat. The trunk of a living aefafe radiates extreme heat outward within two feet of the tree itself. The leaves generate a lesser amount of heat. Once separated from the rest of the tree, a leaf or piece of wood loses its heat in several hours and fades to a dulled copper hue.
 
Habitat: Flamewood trees grow in a wide variety of soils in temperate climates.
 
Uses: The wood can be used for carving or making furniture.
 
 
 
Common Name: Aifai
 
Description: Aifai are tall slender semi-deciduous trees, with silver bark, yellow veined red leaves, and 2-inch large double bloom pink flowers that look like pom-poms. They also produce a green skinned fruit with a soft peach colored juicy inside and a single large white seed.
 
Habitat: Aifai trees grow in a wide variety of soils in temperate climates.
 
Uses: The fruit are edible and the seeds can be crushed to create a powder from which dye can be made.


Common Name: Aisiaisa
 
Description: Aisiaisa trees have silvery-blue bark and small bunches of pale green leaves, or leaflets. Each leaf is 4 to 6 feet long and is neatly divided up into a complex pattern. The branches can grow up to 25 feet long and it can reach a maximum height of 215 feet tall. Pale yellow flowers and thumb-sized brown shells with soft cream-colored nuts grow on the tree.
 
Habitat: Aisiaisa trees grow in a wide variety of soils in temperate climates.
 
Uses: The nuts are edible. The wood can be used for carving or building.
 
 
 
Common Name: Buxe
 
Description: Buxe are small trees that only grow approximately 4 to 5 feet in height. Large shiny green leaves, approximately 6 to 12 inches in length and 3 to 4 inches across adorn the top of the twisted yet straight trunk. The bark is slightly spongy texture and is pale beige. The yellowish wood is springy.
 
Habitat: Buxe trees grow in a wide variety of soils in temperate climates.
 
Uses: The wood is ideal for the construction of bows, switches and whips.


Common Name: Eorae
 
Description: Eorae trees have purple flowers and bright berries, dark green glossy leaves and a smooth dark brown bark. The wood underneath the bark is dark violet. They have a maximum height of 58 feet.
 
Habitat: Eorae trees grow predominately in mountain areas and grasslands near mountains or hills, sometimes in forests.
 
Uses: The berries are edible and can be made into brandy. The wood can be used for furniture, carving or building.
 
 
 
Common Name: Gaoun (pronounced Ga'oweun)
 
Description: Gaoun trees have soft wood with russet bark. The branches are filled with foliage that has a long stem with lots of tiny leaves, giving it a feathered effect. The leaves are a pale green with silver under side. The tree also has bright yellow trillium (three-petal) flowers and long silvery-green seedpods with thumb nail sized brown seeds inside. This tree's maximum-recorded height is around 110 feet tall and 18 foot wide at the base.
 
Habitat: Gaoun trees are found in tropical and warm climate forests.
 
Uses: The wood makes excellent roof tiles or floors since it has a soft velvety texture. The seeds when crushed and added to hot water makes a strong thick black drink.


Common Name: Goombarae Tree
 
Description: Goombarae are thick leaved deciduous trees that are more like a succulent than a tree. The leaves are thick and shiny and the wood is a light brown color.
 
Habitat: Goombarae are found in tropical climates and are native to Jareya Island.
 
Uses: The leaves can be used as a source of moisture; a gel-like substance can be extracted. The wood can be used for carving.
 
 
 
Common Name: Grom
 
Description: Groms are slender trees with black bark and medium brown wood that has a dark brown grain. This tree has no leaves but has whip-like branches that can ensnare a traveler who happens to wander too close.
 
Habitat: Grom trees grow in a wide variety of soils in temperate climates.
 
Uses: The wood can be used in carving or to make furniture.


Common Name: Haeleio
 
Description: Haeleio trees are deciduous hardwoods that can grow up to 80 feet tall. It has scarlet bark that peels to reveal ebony wood and small dark green heart shaped leafs. The tree also bears lavender double bloom flowers and palm sized edible fleshy yellow fruit.
 
Habitat: Haeleio trees are found in forests and mountain areas.
 
Uses: The wood can be used for building, furniture, and carving. The outer bark can be used in potpourri or as an air freshener; it has a soft vanilla aroma. Fruit can be used in cooking.
 
 
 
Common Name: Jalumin
 
Description: The trunk of the Jalumin tree appears to be made of many tangled roots all twisted together to form the strong base. The branches look like wild spiny fingers pointing in every direction. There are no leaves on this tree, only fruit. The jalumin fruit are large opaque blue orbs. The fruit is not edible, but they provide a natural source of light. The light is not bright, but it casts a soft bluish glow. Sometimes the fresh fruit drops and explodes, releasing a strong unpleasant odor.
 
Habitat: Jalumin trees grow in a wide variety of soils in temperate climates.
 
Uses: The wood can be used for building, furniture, and carving. The fruit can provide a temporary light source which lasts about an hour.


Common Name: Kailet
 
Description: Kailet trees have unusually shaped and quite sturdy leaves. These leaves grow in natural round-shaped platforms approximately 4 feet in diameter that people can climb up and sit on. The wood of this tree is medium brown in color as is its bark.
 
Habitat: Kailet trees grow in a wide variety of soils in temperate climates.
 
Uses: The wood can be used to make furniture or for carving.
 
 
 
Common Name: Kama Gura
 
Description: Kama Gura trees have slender sand-colored trunks with roughly textured bark. Large deep green rounded solid palms with small notches along their edges palm leaves form the top of the tree which gain faint white stripes during certain times of the year. The leaves never fall, and these trees are rarely taller than six feet.
 
Habitat: Kama Gura trees thrive in warmer areas with a lot of moisture in the air.
 
Uses: The wood can be used for carving.


Common Name: Saifbraelsh
 
Description: Saifbraelsh trees have a golden bark with mottled silver marks much like snake skin, the wood underneath is a dark gold hardwood. The trees have large green-blue oval leafs which can be as large as 2 feet long and 1 foot wide. Flowers are magenta with blue centers and they have large ball like fruits that can grow up to 3 feet around. Maximum recorded height of these trees is about 285 feet and around 55 foot wide.
 
Habitat: Saifbraelsh trees grow in a wide variety of soils in temperate climates.
 
Uses: Outer bark can be used for wood paneling and the wood can be used for building, furniture, or carving. The liquid inside fruits can be fermented in vats to create an alcoholic drink called Saifbrule.
 
 
 
Common Name: Silbein
 
Description:  Silbein trees bear different shades of red leaves all year round. The bark is white and smooth to the touch. The inner wood is also white in color.
 
Habitat: Silbein trees are found in most climates except extreme cold.
 
Usage: The wood can be used for carving, making furniture, or building.


Common Name: Temla
 
Description: Temlas are deciduous trees that have a gnarly grey trunk. Their leaves range from russet to red and are sometimes scarlet. They have pale green flowers that smell of cinnamon, and golden apples.
 
Habitat: Temla trees are found in deciduous forests, lower mountain regions and urban gardens.
 
Usage: The apples are used to make a golden colored cider or used in cooking. The wood can be used in carving.
 
 
 
Common Name: Zatne
 
Description: Zatne trees have a silvery-grey bark that covers blue wood. Russet leaves cover the tree all year round, but the small green highly-scented blossoms that smell of sweet musk only flower during the spring. Tiny red skinned fruits appear after the tree flowers.
 
Habitat: Zatne trees grow in a wide variety of soils in temperate climates.
 
Usage: The bark can be used for roof tiles; the wood for furniture and building materials. It can also be tapped for the sap and when mixed with crushed zali mushrooms, can be made into strong glue. Fruit are edible and the flowers can be used for perfume.
