Defenses seem to move much slower than offence under the nskill system. My evasion is over half of what my unarmed combat is. Is this intended? Or will we be encouraged to stand and dodge/parry creatures without killing them to learn those defenses?
Also, being a guardian, I don't even know if there is an armor skill under the nskill system but, if there is, how will Guardians learn this skill? Or will it not matter for them?
thanks

Should read about the Guardians first. They've 'no need' for weapons and armor. :> _________________ "In view of the fact that God limited the intelligence of man, it seems unfair that he did not also limit his stupidity."

And you thought I didn't know this about Guardians, Galeth?
Guess I need to clarify what I mean. Under the current skill system, we get a bonus to resistances everytime we level. Under the nskill system will we still be getting that or will resistances have to be learned? The only thing I am comparing it to is DR... when you get hit there, you learn armor. Well, Guardians won't be wearing any.. what will we learn when we get hit? will we still learn some resistance? It may not even work this way, I was just wondering.

That is very true heh, even learning Pulse seems to be a major pain.
Pulse NSKILL is only 38 after killing countless elite guards.
Parry NSKILL is only 4 after standing around and letting Elite Guards attack for awhile too.
Judging from TOPSKILL ALL there seems to be balance issues in regards to learning with alot of skills. I'm sure you guys are aware of this. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

I'll check out the skill issue. On Guardian resistances, this aspect will not change at all from how it works now. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

my experiences is that defenses are harder to learn because defenses aren't a limited resource like combats are.
i can have a kucho swing at me all day and it won't tire out. meanwhile, i can't shoot at it all day because it will die.
that said, combats still train ultra-slow, but i always chalked that up to being way above the skill levels of what i hunt. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I compensated for the very issue you describe when I did the training code, and it appears I may have overcompensated in the process. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

I bugged it, but thought I should post it here to, since we're on the topic. Is it supposed to teach thrown if you bash something with a throwing club, or teach marksmanship of you bash something with your rifle? It would be nice if these things taught blunts. _________________ >ask librarian about books

Parry isn't moving at all when defending against Elite Guards for Tshar.
Also not learning and tactics from 2 on him at melee and three on him will kill him.
Also, pulse isn't moving at all either after shooting 10 of them to death.
Oh wait it just moved 1% after parrying several times. Is that normal? EXP grants seem to be somewhat random. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

Some randomness should be expected. Let me deal with this one issue at a time, starting with parry. Are you actively attacking regularly while parrying? _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Yes I was throwing a kick every 2-5 seconds.
And I had three guards on Tshar, not two sorry. _________________ It is better to be pissed off than pissed on. |

Have you tweaked it at all recently? Took Tshar to kuchos and was getting 2% grants on parry, much better than elite guards.
And a kucho ran from him heh.
