Under the soon-to-be-released justice system, how will snipe/backstab caused deaths be treated?(Both now and in the future)

I don't see how you can be auto-reported to the troopers by civilians for a crime that nobody sees you commit. I could see if there was a thing in place for backstab and the like that if someone in the room sees you do it, then they have to option to charge you with the crime, or if the person you kill sees you do it, and you're revealed that it would be reported. I'm just really uncomfortable with the fact that backstab is auto-reported. If it has to be this way, I guess I can live with it, I just don't like it. _________________ >ask librarian about books

i (personally) think it's more an OOC fairness of gameplay as opposed to an IC logic thing.
not that i would expect stilldawn to go on a killing spree if she could get away with it, but i think players just feel a bit safer knowing that someone can be discouraged from killing them because they'll at least be wanted and get some jailtime (although, some CAN apparently escape rather easily, heh).
from an IC sense, though, i think the issue is more that hiding doesn't always mean 'not in the open'. while a PC and his or her friends may not notice someone get stabbed, there's always that unseen massive group of NPCs milling about who might see something. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I can understand that it might be too much power for agents if we could go around killing people without anything happening to us, that's why I said that I would be able to live with it if it has to be that way.
And also, has it always said "You begin peer at" for the scope thing? Shouldn't there be a to in there? _________________ >ask librarian about books

Im posting this for tyg, since hes unable to get into the message forum at the moment.
Since it would give agents to much power if we automatically got away with backstabbing and they like, maybe with the secret attacks, the citizens wouldn't just automatically say who it was that did it. It would be cool that, with enough skill, you could do it, and they might see you do it, but they don't know exactly who it is, and the Trooper's could do some sort of investigative things, like talking to citizens about recent murders to get information on who did the crime, maybe like an item or two that the suspect was wearing, or if they had like a tattoo or something, or other marking characteristics like that. If it's possible to do, I think that would be a cool way to at least try to give a supposedly secret attack a degree of secrecy, instead of the citizens automatically telling everyone who done it. _________________ You say, "Wisdom, courage, temperance, justice."
