so i was testing to see if there was a faster way to make money while whitting than using kailet blocks and making idols, mainly because i noticed using different woods/making different projects gave different roundtimes.
(for those curious, kailet idols seem to give the best profit per minute out of everything i tested so far)
i decided to see if i could switch projects mid-project and, amazingly, it worked. a way to use a minor bug to cut down on whittling time was found!
sadly, while i'd love to claim this was an intended feature and not a bug, the fact that my profit per min changed from 150/min (9000/hr) to 500/min (30000/hr) makes it sound like a bug.

You begin cutting off excess wood and start forming a spoon from a kailet block.
Roundtime: 10 sec.
whittle block to spoon
You continue whittling at a kailet block.
Roundtime: 12 sec.
whittle block to spoon
You continue whittling at a kailet block.

whittle block to spoon
You fully recover your inner focus.
whittle block to spoon
You shape a kailet block into a crude spoon-like item.
Roundtime: 9 sec.
whittle block to spoon
You continue whittling at a kailet spoon-like block.
Roundtime: 13 sec.
whittle block to spoon
You continue whittling at a kailet spoon-like block.
Roundtime: 10 sec.
whittle block to spoon
You continue whittling at a kailet spoon-like block.
Roundtime: 9 sec.
whittle block to spoon
You continue whittling at a kailet spoon-like block.
Roundtime: 11 sec.
whittle block to idol
You finish shaping your idol into a finely-crafted kailet idol.
Roundtime: 47 sec. |

ive also found out, yaru, that this technique works in the other direction as well. that is, i could start with one of the more-difficult projects, and, when encountering trouble, move down to an easier one to complete the project. unfinished plaques can be reworked into spoons, and so on. regress in that direction makes a little sense to me, since it will result in loss during the sale, but not the way youd discovered.

yeah, i noticed that too, but thanks for pointing that part out as well.
this was more for the money-abuse bug aspect of it all, but anyone can turn any project into any other project right during the middle of it.
granted, that may be intentional like it is for knitting, except knitting is completed percentage wise, while for whittling it is always 9 [sucessful] whittles and done.
