I agree, but I think that' it's not only the darju description that needs updating. ALL of them need updating. I think the Jaddan one still talks about being named after the moon.

Ok, here's my thoughts on it. Drake is Darjuan. He is not pig-like (Darju don't have snouts!), he is not cat-like (they have mostly normal ears, and no goddamn feline whiskers other than NORMAL facial hair), he's not even dog- or wolf-like. He's Darju. He's big, strong, loud and proud. He's got back and shoulder hair like no man on Earth, and stripes that are just darker than his normal bluish color. They're not tiger stripes, and even though they could be likened to it.. they're just stripes.

Eolai are not Elven, they're Eolai. I think everyone's problem is that they have some unconscious NEED to compare them to something they already know, which in this case, since they have vaguely similar appearances and a racial name that begins with 'E', would be Elven. But even so, they are NOT Elves.

Jaddan.. while they're big like Togs, they are definately not as dumb. I think being big is the only similarity other than baldness that can be construed between the two. Jaddan are Jaddan. They are not anything else.

Alteri are not gnomes! They don't even LOOK like gnomes. Gnomes tinker with mechanical devices, but Alteri are much different in their preferences. There's just no comparison. The only thing Alteri can be compared to is the stereotypical "little green man from Mars".. although not many of them green.

Like I said in a previous paragraph, most people have a need to liken them to something they already know... but I think we need to free ourselves from that and just take them for what they are, not that which we already know, nor what we want them to be.
