i'm sure it's really just a disaster of an idea, but dual-classes would be pretty cool.
instead of a level cap of 100, the level cap would be 50.
each level would require 60,000 exp.
so a triple-trained skill will cap out at 150, and a double-trained would cap out at 100 (although i guess that would have to be rethough with nskills)
nskill: skills would cap out at a flat 250 instead of 500. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

then they bask in the glory of knowing that they're getting bonuses that both professions benefit from. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Even if this was a thing, I think a cap of 50 would be bad. Dual classing could be very cool, but I play MM also, and theres times when I wish I could just stay what I am. If dual was possible, It should be an optional thing, so nobody is forced to pick a profession that they dont want to be

in my mind, dual class in HR would be something you start off with, like in AD&D. and it would be optional. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

SO as an optional thing, I could pick two classes, and level in both of them as I progressed. If I only wanted to be a single class, then it would remain with the level 100 cap? would my skills still cap at 150 and 100 in my single class? those are teh questions I would ask about it

You can pick up a dual class later in life as well... _________________ Why use logic when you can just...make stuff up? |

With how Yaru was describing it, under AD&D stuff, that would be multi-classing, and would work differently. I think what he is trying to explain is more of the starting dual-class. (had to whip out my manual for that one). multi-class would eb a really bad idea I think. Dual.. if it could be done so that it wouldnt hinder someone who opted not to, wouldnt be too bad of an idea.

i think that if you pick to dual class, you can't back out of it without rerolling, just like you can't back out of being a single class profession without rerolling. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

Yeah. I wasnt clear with how I explained it, lemme try again, I dont always get my words meaning what I mean for them to mean.
What I was asking was, if I chose to not have a dual-class, how would level and skill caps work? With how you explained it, dual would cap at 150 and 100, and level 50 for each class, which would give you 200 and 300 if you had the same triple trainable skills.
If I chose a single class, woudl the level cap of 50 be remitted for 100 again, and the skill caps back up to 200 and 300 per skill in the individual class?

i just looked at it like this:
when you're level 50, you can have 100 in double and 150 in triple.
as i said, that doesn't work and i should consider nskill anyway.
so, at level 50 under nskill, you stop at 250.
so a dual class would stop at level 50 and have 250 max, while a single class would stop at level 100 and 500 max. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

I'd be all for dual classing. Kit'd probably stay just a tech, but I'd loooove to make Sully and Artisan/Performer. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I'm pondering lots of ideas for something akin to dual classing but not for test. My plan is to get the goals already set out for test done -- that will take long enough as is -- and then to quit burning time on test and get in high gear on live. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato
