Just because you only have one character doesn't mean other people can't have more then one. |
so, you realize i have a second character, right?
i'm not against having more than one character. i am against using them in a manner that changes the game from multi-player to single player. |
Explain how this is possibly without all secondary characters being at least 20th-30th level. |
clarify the question? i'm not sure what you're asking.
if its the 'using them in a manner...' part, i mean this.
let's say a person starts shit with all techs.
the techs don't help the person get his or her comm chip repaired.
said person then gets his or her mule out to do the work, instead.
that, to me, is circumventing the entire concept of a multi-player game. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!

For a first level tech, repairing a comm is borderline impossible. You'll need at least 10 levels under your belt before you can REALLY start being effective in repairs without spellsongs and bonuses and all that...which requires some money for a drone...or, if you want better bonuses, a MAD...and that requires errands and 100k for just the shell. At 10th you can install and extract upgrades from cybergear and attach scopes and fix comms pretty okay.
If someone wants to make a mule tech to do that, level them like mad for a few weeks to be worth anything, more power to them. I don't see fixing stuff to be the end all and be all of being a tech. Building stuff...now that's where it's at.
Same with being any other profession. You need to have all of your mules in the 20th-30th level range to be completely single player only. And that means no talking or interacting with anyone.
You're getting angry and unset over a few extra artisans because people wanted to try weaving (I still think sculpting is the most fun so far of the systems). You're level 55. You still rock the artisan world. This is no big deal. You're not getting hurt in anyway at all. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

i repeat:
i am not angry over new artisans.
i am not sure where you got this from.
i said, at the start of this thread, that i am surprised that there are so many artisans, mules or otherwise popping up lately, and thus i feel it has something to do with the new tailored goods/patterns/weaving system.
that is not anger. that is not rage. that's me saying to valla, publicly, "hey, if people are that interested in being artisans now, then i guess what you did was a huge success, good job."
incase you didn't notice, i like being a big supporter of what valla does.
once the thread did turn into a discussion about mules in general, i moved the topic, since it doesn't matter to valla.
final note: new artisans are, in no way, a threat to me. regardless of how many artisans there are, i still make money just fine by hunting or by making trench coats. the only thing that matters to me, really, are the values of the goods i tailor when i'm selling them at premium. _________________ A bright-eyed Thekko Ku Kalla dressed in a dapper sailor suit takes to flight and careers through the air toward the Modan Kucho and slams into him!
