Eye Test
Test your eyes
EYE TEST
Count every "F" in the following text:
FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...
(SEE BELOW)
HOW MANY ?
..................... 3?
WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
READ IT AGAIN !
The reasoning behind is further down.
The brain cannot process "OF".
Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius.
Three is normal, four is quite rare.
Send this to your friends.
It will drive them crazy.! And keep them occupied
for several minutes..! _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."

Heh, I don't think this "test" reflects intelligence in any manner, but rather how your brain processess information presented in a visual manner.
Of course I'm biased, I not only got 3, but when I tried to find 6 I kept finding 5 until like the 4th read. And yes, all the missed F's were in "of", including the elusive 6th. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

And of course, the way that little block of text is presented, words are cut apart in the middle such that the three F's you're meant to find are at the beginning of something, not the end. That didn't help. _________________ Why use logic when you can just...make stuff up? |

I think it also goes back to how we train ourselves to read not by reading complete text but by scanning. I read large amounts of texts all the time by scanning and have no problems processing what I read so a missed,of,here and there I dont think reflects on intelligence. But I still found the test funny. _________________ Mellie Amresh says, "Send someone with a bigger dick."

Yep, took me three fast reads to notice both the's. I think it's a matter of how well one can scan text and extract the noteworthy portions, and I apparently don't even notice a lot of words. I do this often when I type, also, however. I'm very prone to leaving out words completely from sentences, but I don't necessarily think that's related to the reading issue in any great regard. _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

Honestly, if the directions had not said 'Find the Fs' I probably would have skimmed too. I was just looking for Fs. Not reading the words. _________________ "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" -- Adam Savage

I counted 6 the first time. I don't believe this small quiz relates so much to how intelligent a person is, but more in how they process written language. _________________ Counselor Faith Tempest
