I have no idea how close the justice system is to being finished. However, I would still like some information about how Troopers will be handling law enforcement. I would appreciate if any GMs could post some facts about the system and how it works if anything is known at this time.

I can tell you how it will work, well how it is planned to work, nothing is in place at the present time. Troopers will be given the ability to arrest those that have committed crimes inside the city. There will be a board posted in the HQ as well as a comm channel to receive updates. Troopers will have to be on duty in order to listen to the channel or arrest anyone.

In order to arrest someone, the Trooper will have to subdue them and then bring them to the jail facility. Once there, the Trooper will hand them over to be processed and they will be held in a holding cell until it is time for them to go to court.

Troopers will only have jursidiction inside the city limits, so if a criminal escapes to the wilderness, a contract will have to be put out on them and it is then handeled by the Mercs.

That's about it in a nutshell, Rikiar can fill in where I might have missed something.

What will be considered crimes, besides the obvious ones?

I'll leave this one for Rikiar, he's got the most current info on what's being used. I would like to reiterate what I've said in previous posts, etc. that it will depend on the city you are in as to what crimes are valid. Even the obvious crimes, like murder, aren't considered a crime in some cities (mostly just Titan City). As for Llanfair, you'll pretty much see the standard stuff.

Please add public displays of sex to the list for all of the "conservative" townships. Hell, I doubt even the more liberal cities should condone sex on the sidewalks.

Haha, that'd be awesome. Trooper Bob sees Suzie and Joe going at it infront of the communicator shop. He rushes over and beats the shit out of Joe (subdue!) and then arrests him. And does not let him cover himself up, either. Schwing.

How will we be able to subdue them?

Will we be required to say something along the lines of 'Joe, you're wanted for such and such' BEFORE we attempt to subdue them? Or can we just locate them and run in and make the arrest SWAT style?

With the subduing, you need to get them incapacitated enough to slap on the cuffs. Usually that would mean stunning them or knocking them down for long enough, unless you get someone willing to go with you. Stun guns and some other things will most likely be available to aid in this process.

As far as I'm concerned, Troopers won't have to announce their arrest before hand if they don't want to. If you know Joe and want to be nice, you can say "Hey man, I'm here to arrest you." or you can just pounce on him.

On the Science Channel the other night they had this show about how dangerous tazers are to a person and all the damage to the nervous system they can do. Was really really cool.

I can so see Kit tazering something or stun gunning something before hs whips out his pistols. Hey, whoever said he had to be brave?

I hope using a taser -- if you're not a Trooper or Mercenary fulfilling a contract -- will be against the law in most cities. You know, since it's basically a weapon and such.
