Do you think use of weapon types should be limited according to stats/skills?
Limit weapons by using minimum stats (strength, coordination, etc.)

Weapon limits, should be race limited I think, Just like in the example, a gnome in Full human sized plate wielding that 2 handed War mattock... come on people.. role play for gosh darn sakes... I would say to leave it to the player, but from experience, I know folks will abuse things. So Race limits and skill limits are important.

Consider the prospect of resized weapons. By this, I mean taking a typically large weapon, and sizing it down to fit a smaller wielder. The damage might not be as comparably high, but you're not weighed down.
That's right, like 3rd Edition. Sue me.
I'm personally up in the air without an opinion either way. I like a character's choice of weapon as a mirror to her in-character personality more than whether she can tweak an extra couple points of damage out of it.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this, but I do think weight vs. strength is very important.

I believe that the weight vs strength should be capped according to race. If it's not what's to stop people from maxing (sp?) out their strength stats to be able to carry the over sized/weighted weapons? Confused

Try to imagine a vertically challenged person with the physique of Arnie, it just doesn't work Shocked .

Idea Solution for this would be to have race specific weapons but allowing them to have the same penalties/bonuses as each other.

Hmm. There are already racial based strength training costs, as well as race-based strength caps. Seems like adding yet another layer would on seal the fate completely on say, an Alteri polearm wielder and make it completely impossible instead of just challenging.

I like something along the lines of stats\skills reducing roundtime and increasing accuracy of weapons. So, why not make that work in the reverse? Increased roundtimes, awkward-looking misses, and maybe even damaging oneself would make it challenging but not impossible to use a weapon twice as big as yourself. 'Course, this would be capped at a maximum penalty so there's no 120 second roundtimes that cut your own head off or whatever.
